Michael Schumacher is in a STABLE condition in hospital

The F1 legend's condition has stabilised under the supervision of hospital staff overnight, an improvement on his critical condition.


Michael Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm has described the F1 legend's condition as 'stable'.

Kehm had originally scheduled a press conference for 10am (UK time) on New Year's Day, but called it off at the last minute and simply gave a statement outside the University Hospital in Grenoble.

She said Michael Schumacher's condition had stabilised overnight, under the supervision of hospital staff, and there was therefore no need to give the press conference.

The 'stable condition' is an improvement on his condition earlier in the week, though Kehm emphasised that despite the good news "we are still in a critical situation".

It is not yet clear if Schumacher will have to undergo more surgeries, in addition to the two operations he has already been through since his skiing accident.

It is thought the F1 legend collided head first into a rock while skiing with friends in France.

Denim

Denim is predicted to return for SS14 and we're welcoming it with open arms. Whether it's ultra-loose flaring jeans or an inky indigo slouchy one-piece, denim always works and has been updated with patches and distressed effects this season.

Embellishment

Embellished jacquard at Dior or an injection of sparkle on the sheer fabric at Burberry, high-impact embellishment was visited by designers at each of the four capitals' fashion weeks and is bound to seep through to the high street in no time.

Flats

Ladies, rejoice! It's time to hang up your high heels because flats are back. Directional fashion houses such as Carven, Valentino, and Alexander McQueen sent models down their catwalks in flat sandals with buckle fastenings and thick straps; now you can be both comfortable and cool.

Girly

Previous seasons have championed the more androgynous look but thanks to the likes of Sister by Sibling and Burberry Prorsum, floral prints, cute camisoles and lovely lace in bubblegum hues are bringing girl power back for SS14.

Hats

When it comes to headgear this season, the bigger the better. Think riviera chic floppy and straw-brimmed sun hats. Giorgio Armani's pink, black and majorelle blue mortar-boards - that were at least 3ft by 3ft - were the highlight of Milan Fashion Week.

Iridescent

Fluffy iridescent jumpers and foiled dresses rocked the catwalk at Christopher Kane and now everything is going futuristic, holographic and dazzling. Daring dressers can make a major impact by slipping on a holographic dress or skirt. If you're looking to trial the trend with a more subdued effect, pick up an iridescent clutch or chunky block heels instead.

Jackets

A great jacket can add some serious style to any outfit. From boyfriend jackets at Richard Nicoll to more daring raw silk pieces at Emilio de la Morena, the high street is going to be taking inspiration from the catwalk and offering one to suit any style. The biker jacket is here to stay but opt for yours in white or a soft buttery hue.

Khaki

This summer we are heading to the jungle. Take inspiration from the Chloe girl, who took to the catwalk in a khaki mega-parka, dungarees, and even paper-bag jodhpurs. We coveted Alexander Wang's classic khaki trench and we hope Topshop has plenty in store this season.

Lovely lace

Lace was officially one of the most tweeted terms over Fashion Week. Burberry's catwalk featured tailored spiderwebs in soft pastels, Chloe did laser cut lace, and Peter Pilotto, House of Holland, and Meadham Kirchoff embraced the feminine fabric too. It fits perfectly with the effortless and romantic mood of SS14.

Matchy matchy

Ever loved a print so much you want to wear it head-to-toe? Now you can without emulating your eight-year-old self because matchy matchy is all the rage again. Rihanna, Cara Delevingne and Rita Ora are proof that double prints can be pulled off. If you're looking for a high street option, Mollie King included a chic pink floral print skirt and jacket duo in her Oasis edit.

Neon

It wouldn't be summer without an injection of neon would it? Just ask Lucas Nascimento whose sheer neon coral and vibrant tomato reds brightened up his collection of dove grey and navy. Sister by Sibling also shook up the catwalk with their vision for next summer - think neon slogan knits. River Island and American Apparel will be your go-to high street stores for all things bright and beautiful next season.

Organza

From jumpsuits to jackets, skirts to shirts, you name it - sheer was all over the catwalk. Delicate floral prints and embroidery were the most popular embellishments to brighten up these sheer fabrics as seen at Burberry, Matthew Williamson and Topshop Unique. You saw it on Cara first.

Double up in time for this season's matchy matchy trend with Mollie King's Oasis edit  or embrace some vibrant hues with Jaded London streetwear at River Island or play ladylike with some organza - Missguided's £35 dress is a purse friendly option

Pastels

The clothes, accessories and even some runways were inspired by the flowery pastel colors - just take a look at Jasper Conran's show. Light fabrics in perfect pastels are ideal for hot summer days and candy coloured accessories can be toughed up with some metallics. Antonio Berardi, Ashish, Burberry Prorsum, House of Holland's shows served as the perfect example of how pastels will be your go-to colour this season.

Quilted

Quilting has been a mammoth trend for two years now and whether you wrap up on the colder evenings in a quilted bomber jackets or rock a leather skirt with quilted panels, you can't go wrong.

Romantic

From Temperley London to Burberry, our wardrobe's are going to be filled with feminine and romantic pieces - think elegant full skirts and girly colours.

Make your colour palette full of pretty pink pastels this season - take cue from David Koma , snap up a quilted jacket like this Asos offering , and channel your inner lady a la Temperley London

Sport's luxe

Sporty silhouettes are back with a bang, take cue from Rihanna and Rita Ora. Boxy bomber jackets from Christopher Raeburn, mid-length mesh jogging bottoms at Jean-Pier Braganza, and those super chic flat caps featured at House of Holland will be your inspiration.

Typography

Typographic statement tees are still on trend so you can wear your heart on your sleeve. Sister by Sibling's sportswear jerseys were branded with bold slogans such as 'lead sister' and 'happy' and echoed the 50s silhouette that inspired the collection - have fun with it.

Underwear

SS14 trends in lingerie are a mix of the romantic and daring, opt for a bralet under organza or lace. More is less.

Rita Ora has got the sports luxe trend down to a tee , wear your heart on your sleeve this season with a slogan tee like Sister by Sibling's and remember: less is more!

Vertical stripes

From the deckchair stripes at Hussein Chalayan, to the black and white Beetlejuice-style at Roland Mouret, everything is going downhill this season - but in the best way.

White

The all-white look is here to stay if 3.1 Phillip Lim and Prabal Gurung's offerings were anything to go by. The look has been updated with clever tailoring, clean silhouettes and feminine accents to give it the most minimal effect.

X-ray fabrics

Get ahead of the fashion pack with some intricate X Ray fabrics - they look best on organza dresses worn with sky scraper heels.

Everything is going vertical this season, opt for a flattering dress like this Alice + Olivia offering , go all out in white , or brave some X-ray fabrics for the ultimate sartorial statement

Yellow

The bright canary hue was the colour du jour at fashion week and whether it was sherbet, buttercup or lemon, it couldn't be missed. Turkish-born Bora Aksu unveiled a collection with a pretty palette of bright zesty yellow, as did Jasper Conran. Wear a sunshine yellow dress with muted make-up and slicked back hair for maximum effect.

Zips

They tore through denim at Balmain and they adorned handbags at Mulberry, that's right, zips were everywhere over Fashion Week. Introduce the trend by rocking some zip army candy or take it further with zip embellished leathers.

Add some spring to your step this season with a vibrant yellow outfit a la Jasper Conran , and make sure your arm candy is armoured with zips

Cosmetic surgeon, Dr Olufemi Adeyinka Adeogba, struck off medical register for horrific damages to patients after botched cosmetic surgeries

A woman has spoken of her horror at being left disfigured and in need of reconstructive surgery after her nose collapsed following a botched operation at a clinic offering half-price discounts.

Rita Nugent was one of many women left with severe injuries and serious pain after being treated by cosmetic surgeon Dr Olufemi Adeyinka Adeogba, who had trained and qualified abroad.

Six months after undergoing the £2,200 operation, the 31 year-old's nasal passage completely collapsed.

A tribunal branded Dr Adeogba's practise 'deplorable', striking him off the medical register after ruling that he 'presents a risk to patients'.

 

Rita Nugent was one of a number of women left in pain and with severe injuries after being treated by Dr Olufemi Adeyinka Adeogba at the private Birkdale Clinic in Crosby in 2011


One woman was left with a dent in her breast and a nipple that was too high. When she begged Dr Adeogba for help, he told her to wear a supportive bra.

Another patient's nipple turned black after he failed to warn her of the dangers of tissue necrosis, if she continued her 12-a-day smoking habit after her operation.


Dr Adeogba was employed at the private Birkdale Clinic in Crosby until 2011.

Chairman of the tribunal panel, Dr Malcolm Phillips said: 'Dr Adeogba's standards fell below or seriously below those to be expected of a competent cosmetic surgeon.

'The failings were wide-ranging and occurred over a two-year period.'

Women rushed to sign up for cosmetic surgery at the clinic, attracted by half-price discounts.


Weeks after her operation Ms Nugent's nose caved in. The 31-year-old was led to believe she would need fillers for the rest of her life, until she was told her GP could refer her for reconstructive surgery





A medical tribunal found Dr Adeogba's actions were 'deplorable' and that he posed a 'risk to patients'. He was struck off the medical register

Among those was Ms Nugent, a mother. She said things started going 'badly wrong' almost immediately after surgery, and by the time her wounds healed six months later, her nose had caved in.

Ms Nugent said: 'It was like something from a horror movie.
'I asked to speak to the surgeon to ask what happened but I was told by a nurse he wasn't available.


Chair of the tribunal Dr Philips, said: 'Dr Adeogba's failings placed patients at risk of harm; some did suffer direct harm as a result of his lack of care'

'I had stitches all over the septum in the middle of my nose. I was in severe pain. I had a terrible taste in the back of my mouth and I was generally unwell.

Pastor paraded along with 15 other suspects for allegedly printing and circulating fake naira notes.

49-year-old Pastor Akubuiro, who was born in Imo State, is the General Overseer of The Mountain of Breakthrough Deliverance Ministry, also known as Land of Solution, Lagos from where he and other suspects were arrested.

Mr. Mike Fubara, the State Director of State Security Service (SSS) in Kogi, paraded the suspects and revealed that six of them are Pastor Godson Akubuiro’s children.

The SSS boss said the investigation started four months ago due to “worrisome fake naira currency in circulation in Kogi State”.
The breakthrough in the operation happened when the SSS traced and arrested the 16-man syndicate led by Rev. Godson O. Akubuiro.

Items recovered from the suspects include equipment and materials used in printing fake currencies, a large quantity of printed fake notes, cut to size blank currency notes and N1.3 million fake naira notes.
There were also photocopier machines and different colours of oil paints.


Pastor Akubuiro, admitted the crime before reporters, said he was “an ordained man of God” until the devil overwhelmed him.
He further narrated that the criminal activity started in November 2012 in his house, along with his family members.
Pastor Akubuiro also added he was not using the money for himself, but in support of the less-privileged and the needy in his congregation.

He pleaded for leniency, saying men of God were often tempted like King David in the Bible, who though a man after God’s heart, fell many times yet was pardoned by God.
SSS urged the public to be wary of the fake naira notes in circulation and report suspects to security agents.

Farewell Uncle Phil: Actor James Avery of the 'Fresh Prince of Bel Air' dies

Actor James Avery, best known for his role as Uncle Phil in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, has died.

Avery had recently undergone surgery for an undisclosed condition and died in hospital.

The cause of death was confirmed as complications from open-heart surgery, said his manager, Toni Benson.

As well as playing Will Smith's no-nonsense uncle on the iconic 1990s sitcom, he also voiced the villain Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Carlton on the hit show and recently appeared on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!, posted a tribute on Facebook this morning after hearing news of his death.

"I'm deeply saddened to say that James Avery has passed away. He was a second father to me. I will miss him greatly."

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara Avery, his mother, Florence Avery, and a stepson, Kevin Waters.


There is a bit of controversy about his age, some media have it as 65 years while others say he was 68yrs.

Rest in peace!
