Christian Louboutin launches new collection of shoes that will elongate your legs by matching the color of your skin

Christian Louboutin is launching a collection of shoes that will elongate your legs by matching your skin tone.

Five classic Louboutin styles have been re-construvted in five shades ranging from a fair blush to rich chestnut, which aim to 'closely match the color of a customer's skin tone'.

'They disappear like magic and become a fluid extension of her legs, as in a sketch, elongating the silhouette,' said Mr Louboutin.

'The shoes are there to give the woman an extra lift, not to take attention away from the legs and what she is wearing,' he added.

The styles in the Nudes collection include the point toe Pigalle, the curvier Fifi and Simple Pump, as well as the Flo and the signature hidden platform of the Vendome peep toe pump.

They are sold exclusively at Christian Louboutin boutiques.

The French shoe maker has launched a Louboutin Shades App which enables users to take a photo of their foot and match a shade of nude to their skin tone

To celebrate the arrival of the collection in stores this month, the Nudes will be featured in Christian Louboutin windows at the Madison and Robertson boutiques.

Interesting! There's nothing like a nice pair of good ol' loubies!

‘Pilot error caused Associated Airlines plane crash’ – AIB ...see details!

The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has revealed that the October 3rd Associated Airlines crash that killed 14 people was caused by pilot error. The agency explained that the preliminary readout and analysis of the flight recorder indicated that the right engine of the aircraft was faulty.

The agency also said that preliminary investigation indicated that the captain-in-command of the ill-fated aircraft, Abdulrahman Yakubu, ignored the warning from the onboard computer voice.

This was disclosed to journalists by the Commissioner for AIB, Capt. Usman Muktar, while reading out the preliminary readout and analysis of flight 361’s flight recorders in Abuja yesterday.

He said the investigation was done in AIB laboratory in Abuja in conjunction with international flight recorder experts from Canada, who designed the laboratory.

Capt. Mukthar said the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) contained approximately 47 hours in solid state memory, while the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) contained thirty-two and a half minutes of audio, which included internal conversation of two pilots,
radio calls, and the overall environment in the cockpit.

Muktar said that Associated Airlines flight 361 was cleared for take-off by the Air Traffic Controller on runway 18 left of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) Lagos, adding that at that time, the wind was calm and weather was not considered a factor in the accident.

He added that four seconds after the engine power was advanced to commence take off roll, the crew received an automated warning from the onboard computer voice which consisted of three chimes followed by “Take off Flap, Take off Flap, Take off flap.”

He stated that this configuration warning suggested that the flaps were not in the correct position for take-off and there was evidence that the crew might have chosen not to use flaps for the take-off.

According to him, “This warning did not appear to come as any surprise to the crew, and they continued normally with the take-off. This warning continued throughout the take-off roll.“

Capt. Mukhtar added that AIB was in the process of verifying the accuracy of the flight data, adding that the agency had not been able to confirm the actual flap setting and that AIB was expected to determine this in the fullness of time.

The AIB commissioner added that the ‘set power’ call was made by the captain and the ‘power is set’ was confirmed by the First Officer as expected in the normal operations,
adding that approximately three seconds after the ‘power is set’ call, the First Officer noted that the aircraft was moving slowly Approximately seven seconds after the
‘power is set‘ call, the internal aircraft voice warning system could be heard stating ‘Take off Flap, Auto Feather’.

He explained that auto feather refers to the pitch of the propeller blades, adding that in the feather position, the propeller does not produce any thrust.

The Flight Data Recorder, he said, contains several engine related parameters, which the AIB was studying.

"At this time, we can state that the right engine appears to be producing considerably less thrust than the left engine. The left engine appeared to be working normally. The
aircraft automated voice continued to repeat, Take off Flap, Auto Feather. "

According to an aircraft engineer, Sheri Kyari, the flap on an aircraft is located at the trailing edge of the wing. It is at the rear end of the wings.

Kyari, a former president of Pilots and Aircraft Engineers in the defunct Nigeria Airways Limited, the function of the flap when operational increases the surface area of the wing, thereby generating enough lift at low aircraft speeds. This is when the
aircraft is taking off or landing Kyari, is convener and executive director, Centre of Aviation Safety and Research.

“When the flap is not set to the required degree for take off, the aircraft will have to do a long take-off run before gaining enough lift to lift-off the ground,” he said.

Reading out the preliminary report, AIB said “the standard ‘eighty knots’ call was made by the First Officer. The first evidence that the crew indicated that there was a problem with the take-off roll was immediately following the ‘eighty knots’ call.

“The First Officer asked if the take-off should be aborted approximately 12 seconds after the ‘eighty knots’ callout”

AIB added that the captain, in response to the Flight Officer’s question to abort the take off, said that they should continue, adding that the crew did not make V1 call, which is the speed at which the decision to abort or continue a take-off is made, or
the Vr call, which indicates the speed at which it is planned to rotate the aircraft.

The Commissioner added that normally, the non-flying pilot pulls back both the V1 and the Vr speeds,

He said that when the Vr was called, the flying pilot pulled back the control column. The First Officer asked the Captain ‘gently’, a word that indicated that the aircraft was not performing normally.
He added that the aircraft did not produce enough overall thrust and that it was difficult or impossible to climb without risk of an aerodynamics stall.

An aviation expert, Mallam Muhammadu Dodo, described aerodynamics as the streamline of air flow around the aircraft due to its design. It enables it to attain a stable and safe flight Immediately after lift-off, the aircraft slowly veered off the runway, heading to the right and was not climbing, and that the aircraft behaviour made ATC to ask the pilot if Flight 361 operation was normal but that they did not respond, and that
31 seconds after the warning, the aircraft crashed.

British man arrested in the hunt for missing Madeleine McCann

The dramatic arrest of a Brit in the hunt for Madeleine McCann has been described as “potentially highly significant”.

It has boosted the hopes of the missing youngster’s anguished parents Kate and Gerry.

A source close to the couple said: “The arrest only happened as a result of a claim that Madeleine may still be alive.”

The suspect was held in a swoop by Greater Manchester Police after the Sunday Mirror last week revealed that a man bragged about seeing Madeleine alive just weeks ago.

A respected barrister told us the man boasted to him that he had met the child on a Mediterranean island. It was claimed Maddie was “introduced” to the man this summer.

It is understood that the Manchester officers who made the arrest also seized computers from a private address and sent them for forensic examination.

Scotland Yard’s Operation Grange team have been handed the barrister’s detailed statement, which is rated as “high up on the credibility scale”.

The Yard officers had reopened the probe into the disappearance of Madeleine, then aged three, from the McCanns’ holiday apartment in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.

The dramatic twist in the inquiry comes as Kate and Gerry, both 45, prepare to appear in a Crimewatch appeal on BBC1 tomorrow night.

It is understood they are being kept fully briefed on developments.

We told last week how the barrister went to police after being told of the Maddie sighting.

Tourist resorts popular with Brits are now thought to feature in the active inquiry. A family source confirmed last night: “This is high up on the credibility scale.

"The barrister did the right thing by going to police. His information has gone into the Operation Grange system and I know they are working on it.

New hope: Madeleine McCann
PA

“The fact that he was prepared to risk his reputation by making the statement does suggest that it is credible. There are tip-offs and sightings all the time and many of them can be ruled out immediately as either complete fantasy or because there is no credibility to the source.

“This one is more credible because of the nature of the man who brought it to the authorities’ attention.”

The Sunday Mirror can reveal that the arrested man was at a party attended by the barrister at a private home in an upmarket suburb of Manchester on August 17.

During the evening, the lawyer had a conversation with the man, who told him he had met Madeleine on the island in the Med this summer.

The barrister, shocked and distressed by what the man said about the alleged encounter, contacted his local police force the next day then gave a formal statement.

The barrister, who agreed to speak to us but who we are not naming at his request, refused to comment further on the arrest.

He explained: “I cannot risk compromising the investigation or the search for Madeleine. If she is alive but now disappears again, I would never be able to forgive myself.”

But a separate source close to the arrest said: “A guy at the party told the barrister he had been introduced to Madeleine on the island in the summer.

“The barrister took that to mean that she was with another adult at the time but doesn’t know who it was or anything about them.”

It is unclear whether the barrister was able to give officers the name of the man he spoke to at the party.

Police have not released any details about the man they have arrested.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: “A man was arrested in September on suspicion of possession of drugs and conspiracy to distribute indecent images of children. He has been bailed pending further inquiries. An investigation is ongoing into this matter and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

New appeal: Gerry and Kate McCann
PA

Last week we revealed how the barrister broke down in tears as he explained what he had been told.

Speaking to us as he walked his dog in a park near his large home in the North West of England, he said: “I can’t tell you exactly why I believe what I was being told. It was just a gut feeling.

"I knew that by reporting it, it would compromise me in all sorts of ways.

“But it was something I couldn’t ignore. If I hadn’t said anything I couldn’t have lived with myself.”

Asked what it was about the description the man at the party gave him of the girl he said was Madeleine, the barrister said: “I have told the police everything that I was told about her. They know what that was and that is why they have acted.”

Meanwhile Kate and Gerry, of Rothley, Leics, are set to speak of their hope that their daughter will be found finally thanks to new evidence uncovered by a UK police probe.

Former GP Kate and consultant cardiologist Gerry will appear live on BBC1’s Crimewatch at 9pm tomorrow.

Detectives will appeal for help in solving the six-year mystery of what happened in Praia da Luz where Madeleine was on holiday with her parents and younger twin siblings.

The programme will feature a new reconstruction of events, with Madeleine played by a three-year-old girl.

The programme will also be screened in Holland and Germany.

Before this week’s arrest, officers had spoken to 442 people since Operation Grange began. The team had identified 41 “persons of interest”, including carers, residents and workers at the resort.

Det Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, the senior investigating officer, said: “I truly believe there are people out there
who hold the key to Madeleine’s disappearance.”

A Scotland Yard spokesman refused to comment on the arrest and said: “We are not providing a running commentary on the case.”

PHOTOS: Country of kings... The pomp and grandeur of Nigeria's many monarchs

It is not known how many local kings there are in Nigeria, but a new exhibition in London gives a rare glimpse of these monarchs. They were stripped of their constitutional power in 1963, but George Osodi's photos show they have not lost any of their pomp and grandeur.

Mr Osodi, a Nigerian photographer, was granted rare access to the palaces and throne rooms of these rulers who enrich the cultural heritage of a country whose 160 million people come from hundreds of ethnic groups.
The persona of a king reveals the ancient customs, architecture and fantastic finery of Nigeria’s many ethnic groups, Mr Osodi told the BBC.

Mr Osodi says the aim of his exhibition is to mirror Nigeria's great culture through its personalities and in this time of sectarian violence and insecurity, diversity should be seen as a strength rather than a weakness.

Nigeria has 36 states, with a mainly Muslim population in the north, while the south is largely Christian. “There are frequent clashes among different ethnic groups,” Mr Osodi says. “Lots of people have lost trust in their identity. I felt it was important that we see this diverse culture as a point of unity instead of seeing it as something that should divide us as a nation.

“The easiest way I could approach this was to look at the monarchy structure in the country because they are closer to the people than the governors,” Mr Osodi says.

This monarch is the Ovie of Umiaghwa Abraka Kingdom, in the oil-producing Delta state.

This is the emir of Zauzau, whose palace is in the modern-day city of Zaria in northern Kaduna state.

Alhaji Ado Bayero, the emir of Kano, has held his position since 1963. He is one of Nigeria's most prominent Muslim leaders.

This is the Ooni of Ife, Alayeluwa Oba Okunade Sijuwade, whose kingdom is in present day Osun state

This is Oba Alayeluwa Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Kusenla III, The Elegushi of Ikateland, Lagos

This is the Pere of Isaba Kingdom, which came into existence before the 14th Century and is mainly inhabited by the Ijaw ethnic group, who also live in southern Nigeria

Pictured here is Agbogidi Obi James Ikechukwu Anyasi II, who died earlier this year. He was said to be the longest-reigning king in Africa – and was crowned the Obi of the Idumeje-Unor in southern Nigeria in 1946 when the country was still a British colony.

This is a monarch from south-western Nigeria, the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti

This is the ruler of Ijeshaland known as Owa Obokun

Ogiame Atuwatse II, the Olu of Warri

The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, came to the throne five years ago. He loves polo and is the national patron of Nigeria's Polo Association. Regarded as a peacemaker, he lives in the Katsina Royal Palace, known as the Gidan Korau – a huge complex in the centre of Katsina city, reportedly built in 1348.

Obi Joseph Chike Edozien, the Asagba of the Asaba people in Delta state, was selected to become king in 1991. An expert in nutrition, he retired as emeritus professor at the University of North Carolina before taking up his role as monarch.

A teacher by profession, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, pictured here in his royal regalia, became the Ataoja of Osogboland, in south-western Osun state, in 2010. But one side of the royal family is disputing his claim to the throne, known as the Ataoja stool. “People are very proud of their origins and they still celebrate that and I wanted to showcase that Nigerians must look deep to examine where you are coming from,” Mr Osodi told the BBC.

Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekuzi entered the Guinness Book of World Records in 1980 as the youngest monarch when he was crowned at the age of two. He is the Dein of Agbor Kingdom in Delta state.

Man amputates his infected leg using only a metal saw, a small fruit knife and a back scratcher wrapped with a towel because he couldn't afford hospital bills.

According to Shanghaiist.com, Zheng Yanliang, 47, from Boading city, China, began to experience bouts of pain in his abdomen that traveled to both of his legs. He was diagnosed with massive arterial thrombosis in both legs.

As the pain worsened, he decided to take the gruesome step of removing the infected limb himself to avoid the expensive hospital bill.

Excruciating: Mr Yanliang took the desperate step of removing his own infected right leg. He had been diagnosed with massive thrombosis and was in severe pain

Angiograms taken before the home amputation showed that all of the arteries in his right leg were completely gone.

Doctors told the Mr Yanliang, known in his town as being a 'tough guy', the disease was very rarely seen, and he wasn't likely to live more than a month.

For three months, Mr Yanliang was tormented by pain to the point of fuzzy consciousness, screaming so loud that his neighbors could not sleep.

He said. 'It was very painful and they gave me medication but it didn't help.'

The farmer went to several hospitals in Beijing and Hebei but every time he was simply sent home with more medication to his farm in Qingyuan county's Dongzang village.

He said: 'Sometimes the pain was so intense I would pass out, then after three months when it was really bad, they told me that an infection had set in, that I had gangrene, and that I might lose the limb.

'Ideally I needed it to be operated on, but I could not afford it. They just gave me medication. They sent me home to die.'

One night, after his wife had gone to bed, Mr Yanliang found a fruit knife, a metal saw and a towel-wrapped back scratcher and began amputating his own leg.

Zheng Yanliang used the saw and the knife to cut away at the flesh while biting down on a back scratcher to help him withstand the pain

As the pain in Zheng's leg increased, he grabbed the saw and fruit knife and performed the amputation himself

Zheng Yanliang points to the wrapped up remains of his leg that he disposed of with the rest of his rubbish

He said: 'I had a wooden back scratcher, I wrapped a towel around it, and bit on it so I did not scream and wake my wife, then I used the knife to slice the skin and pull it back so I could see the bone. Then I used the saw to slice through the bone after putting a belt around the leg to stop the blood flow.

'I did not want to distress my wife, but I had to wake her when the hacksaw blade broke.'

More than 20 minutes later, his wife awoke and found him with his right leg amputated.

Her husband’s right leg had been sawed off about 15 centimeters from the hip, and the metal saw used for the amputation had snapped into two from the excessive force, and on the table were 4 molars that had been bitten off.

Fortunately, because of the thrombosis, there wasn’t much blood during the amputation.

Painful: Mr Yanliag's leg was severed about 15centimetres from his hip

Wheelchair-bound: Farmer Mr Yanliang is uable to work since the loss of his limb. He said medication he was given did not help

Farm: Up until his illness, Mr Yanliang ran the family farm

The operation saved his life, but now the open wound that still shows a stump of bone has led to a fresh infection, this time in his left leg.

Doctors say he will not be able to save his remaining foot - and he needs an operation if he is not to lose the entire left leg.

As Zheng's condition worsens, Zheng's wife, who suffers from diabetes and heart disease, is forced to tend to the farm on her own.

The family's only financial support comes from their 17-year-old daughter, who dropped out of school to take a job.

Mr Yanliang is now asking his community to help pay for an artificial limb, so that he can carry on with his life and take care of his family.

The local reporter who covered the story has opened a phone line for donations from readers.

Treatment: Zheng Yanliang (right) now faces an uncertain future and needs to raise more money for another operation

Struggle: Mr Yanliang's wife, who has her own health problems, is tending to their farm. The family's only financial support comes from their 17-year-old daughter who dropped out of school to help her parents

Already moving on? 'Kris Jenner wants to change her surname back to Kardashian'...

During season six of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kris Jenner infuriated her husband Bruce when she told him she wanted to change her last name back to what it was when she was married to Robert, the father of Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Robert Jr.

It didn't happen.

But now that the couple has been split for one year - and they finally made the announcement of their separation on Tuesday - the matriarch is revisiting that idea, according to RadarOnline.

From Jenner to Kardashian: Kris, pictured with Bruce in 2010 (left) and with Robert in the '90s (right), reportedly wants to use her late husband's surname

'Kris has seriously been thinking about changing her last name back to Kardashian,' an insider tells RadarOnline.com.

'Kris always considered [her ex-husband] Robert Kardashian to be the love of her life, and their family empire is built on the Kardashian name. It would be so much simpler if Kris just changed her name back.'

It also would be better for branding reasons as her businesses are built on the Kardashian name, not the Jenner name.

Kris' rep did not return calls to MailOnline.

The Kardashian name sells: The 57-year-old wants to be more closely associated with her famous daughters (from left) Kim, Kourtney and Khloe

Kris divorced Robert - a prominent LA attorney who worked with friend O.J. Simpson during his murder trial - in 1991 after it was rumored there was infidelity.

The patriarch died in 2003. Khloe recently acknowledged the 10 anniversary of his passing on her Twitter account in September.

Though Kris told UsWeekly this week that she and Bruce 'still do things together and talk three times a day,' Radar suggests the estranged couple is not as close.

Looking back: The matriarch has admitted she regretted divorcing Robert Kardashian, who she's seen with here during their marriage

'The only time the two talk on the phone is about [their teenage daughters] Kendall and Kylie,' the Radar source says.

'Bruce is completely off the reservation, finally living his life the way he wants to.'

This explains why he no longer cares that Kris wants to go back to her first husband's last name.

The former Olympian 'could not care less at this point if Kris changes her last name back to Kardashian,' says the website's insider.
