Terror link: Samantha Lewthwaite, 29, originally from Buckinghamshire, was described as a 'brave lady' by Islamist terror group Al Shabaab

The terror attack on a Kenyan shopping centre that has left 68 dead was being led by the white English widow of a 7/7 bomber, it was claimed last night.

Soldiers said a white woman wearing a veil was shouting orders to gunmen in Arabic during the bloody massacre inside the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi.

Islamist terror group Al Shabaab claimed it carried out the atrocity in which three Britons were killed and 175 people were left injured.

It said last night on Twitter that Samantha Lewthwaite, the ‘white widow’ of London 7/7 bomber Jermaine Lindsay, was ‘in their ranks’ and a ‘brave lady’.

Fifteen hostages were still trapped inside the shopping centre after more than 24 hours of carnage.

The attack saw men, women and children slaughtered if they could not recite the Koran or name the mother of the Prophet Mohammed.

As well as boasting Lewthwaite was with them, Al Shabaab claimed two British men from London, Liban Adam, 23, and Ahmed Nasir Shirdoon, 24, were among the ‘holy warriors’ in the attack.

The group is said to be highly organised, with huge amounts of ammunition as well as night vision equipment.

KENYA: EXPLOSION, SMOKE, GUNFIRE...Army claims control of Westgate mall, two terrorists killed

Kenyan forces assaulted terrorists in Nairobi's Westgate Shopping Mall on Monday afternoon, killing two and claiming to take control of all floors of the building despite the continued presence of gunmen inside.
It was unclear if any hostages remained inside the building, but authorities expect the number to be "very, very minimal," if any remain, Interior Minister Joseph Ole Lenku said at a news briefing. Most had already been evacuated, he said Monday, the third day of the siege.

Heavy smoke rises from the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi, Kenya, where hostages were being held for a third day on Monday, September 23. Gunmen burst into the mall and opened fire in a deadly attack on September 21. Terrorists from the Somalia-based Al-Shabaab group were believed to have about 10 remaining hostages on one level of the mall, security officials said.

People run for cover outside the mall after heavy shooting started on September 23.

The Kenya Red Cross said that 62 people had died since the siege began Saturday. The agency had previously reported 69 deaths. Some bodies been counted twice, it said on Twitter.
Dark smoke seen rising from the building after Monday's assault began was from fires set by the gunmen to distract forces from the assault, Lenku said.

Terrorists appear to be on the run inside the mall, which Lenku said was sealed off to prevent their escape.

"We are in charge of the situation, our people are safe," he said.
Before the assault, Terrorists from the Somalia-based Al-Shabaab group were believed to have about 10 hostages on one level of the mall, security officials said.

An unspecified number of hostages then were freed overnight, the head of the Kenyan police force said.

Outside the security perimeter around the mall, volunteers waited Monday for their chance to go inside and recover bodies.
At a community center nearby, a distraught woman continued to seek information about her missing husband, a mall employee.
Sporadic gunfire continued into Monday morning, but it could not be determined if security forces or militants were firing at each other.
Israeli special forces were at the scene, Kenyan government sources told CNN.
The FBI is looking into claims by Al-Shabaab of American citizens being involved the attack but have not confirmed the claims, law enforcement officials told CNN.

Herbalist Caught With Body Parts Opens Up On How And Why He Wanted To Use Human Parts For Money Rituals

Residents of Masfala area of Ibadan, Oyo State were shocked to their bone marrows on Tuesday, September 17, when a polythene bag containing human parts was discovered in an uncompleted building by policemen who stormed the area at noon.

Culprit: Abideen Raheem (35)

They were further amazed when the culprit turned out to be an herbalist, Abideen Raheem (35), who lives in a building very close to where the human parts were found. The parts were two hands cut from the wrists down.

The suspect is currently helping homicide detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, in their investigations into the case.
Crime Reports gathered that information about the presence of the body parts in the neighbourhood first got to Operation Burst operatives. They were joined by detectives from Ogbere police station, and when confronted with the body parts, Raheem confessed that he was the one who put them in the polythene bag but claimed that he took them from a dead body he found at Ibadan Toll Gate area.
When detectives went to the spot he claimed to have seen the dead body, no carcass was found, an indication that the suspect was economical with the truth.

Raheem however opened up at the CID during interrogation, confessing that he removed the hands and head from a corpse in a grave at Muslim cemetery at Aba Onde area on Monday September 9 and hid them beside the cemetery.
He revealed that he went back a week after, precisely on September 16 to take the hands while he still kept the head there.
Police sources told Crime Reports that the head had been recovered from where it was kept, but the identity of the corpse remains unknown.

In an interview with Crime Reports, the culprit said it was his quest to become rich that pushed him to committing the act, saying that he knew he was in trouble when police came to arrest him. He also said that the act was his first attempt. The Ibadan indigene, who is married with three children, said he was a herbalist and also into poultry business. "I learnt the profession from a herbalist who is dead. My poultry business failed during last Ramadan period as I lost 100 birds".

“I went to Muslim burial ground at Aba Onde to exhume a corpse from a grave. I cut the hands and the head. I used my hands to dig the grave and cut the parts with the knife I took there. The corpse was already decomposing so it was not difficult. I wanted to use them for money ritual for myself.
“The Baba who trained me said if I got those parts, I would burn the hands along with a snail, a turtle and Sawepepe leaves and mix the ash with black soap. I would then put the soap on the head and would be using it to litter the floor of my room so that my business would get be boosted by the number of the clients that would be flocking my office for consultation,” he narrated.

Though he said he regretted his action, he stated that he would not have known that God existed indeed if he had not been caught. He pleaded for mercy from the government, promising not to do such again.

Confirming the story, the police image maker, Olabisi Okuwobi-Ilobanafor said that the state police commissioner, Mohammed Indabawa, had ordered the State CID to conduct further investigations into the case, adding that the suspect would be charged appropriately after the conclusion of investigations.
