Student whose neighbour was attacked invents GPS rape alarm that tells police the victim's exact location

Rebecca Pick, whose neighbour was attacked by a stranger while taking her rubbish out two years ago has invented new rape alarm that alerts police and can also be used to give evidence in court.

It inspired the 22 yr old student from Glasgow to come up with a gadget to make women safer and in March 2014, the entrepreneur developed the 'Personal Guardian device', which is so small it can be attached to a bra strap, belt or any other piece of clothing.

The device can use a mobile phone to tell police the exact location of the attack.

The small device, which will be released in the next two months, has two large buttons on either side and measures 6cm by 3.5cm.

If the device is still activated accidentally, staff at the monitoring station should be able to tell and the wearer can deactivate the alarm by pressing it again.

Once the buttons are pressed, their phone rings confirming the activation.

The alert is then sent through to the police as well as a chosen number, so a partner or parent will receive a message.

Once the call is connected to a monitoring station, it is automatically recorded.

Rebecca explained: 'The trained monitors then listen carefully and can tell if you are in danger from changes in your breathing.

'They can tell if you're laughing or screaming and can authenticate the call.

'I hope the recordings can then be used in court cases.'

The monitoring centre has software that can isolate and magnify sounds so they can judge whether there is a scuffle or a conflict.

Legendary TV Presenter and Singer Cilla Black dies at 72

Legendary TV presenter and singer Cilla Black has been confirmed dead by the Spanish police in a statement...

“I can confirm the death of British national Priscilla White, aged 72,” Spanish police said.

A Spanish police officer added: “We are still awaiting autopsy results but everything at this stage is pointing towards her death being the result of natural causes.”
Most of the shutters were down at Cilla's house near Marbella on Sunday morning and there was no answer on the door. However, a light outside the property was on, a grey Seat Ibiza car was parked outside and the back patio doors appeared to be open.

Police sources said they thought the death had occurred overnight and they believed Cilla, who suffered from hearing problems and arthritis, had jetted to Spain a few days ago with one of her three sons.
The Liverpoon-born star enjoyed her first taste of fame at the city's Cavern Club, where she performed alongside acts including The Beatles and Gerry and the Pacemakers.
She went on to release 14 albums but later established herself as a TV personality, presenting hit shows including Surprise Surprise and Blind Date.
In 1968, she became the first woman to have her own prime-time chat show on BBC One.

Bobbi Kristina laid to rest amidst family feud

Bobbi Kristina Brown's funeral service took place today in a very private ceremony at the St James United Methodist Church Atlanta.

The emotional service was interrupted by Bobbi Kristina Brown’s aunt, Leolah Brown as she screamed at Pat Houston during the private service. Leolah allegedly yelled, “Whitney is rolling over in her grave! You are so wrong for this, Pat!”

She was escorted outside to cool off. According to TMZ, Leolah had the outburst when Pat, Whitney Houston’s sister-in-law and Bobbi Kristina’s co-legal guardian, began to speak to Bobbi Kristina’s loved ones.

Nick Gordon, the man Bobbi Kristina was due to marry later this month, was conspicuously absent as he was banned by Bobby Brown.

There would be a post funeral wake at the Houston family home in Roswell before Bobbi Kristina's body is flown to New Jersey where she will be buried alongside her mother, Whitney at the Fairview Cemetery.
