Soaps That Restore Virginity.... Gels That Push Up Hips….

This one is for the ladies – I heard about a store in Dubai, UAE that sells products that can get you the kind of curves you’ve always dreamt of. You want one like Jennifer Lopez’s or Nicki Minaj’s? You could get Shakira’s for less than Dh60 (about N1,100).

The shop, Dragon Mart sells ladies’ products ranging from a Dh25 virginity soap that promises to tighten muscles, to a Dh60 (about N2570) gel that claims to push your ‘hip up’, dozens of dubious products are selling like hotcakes at various outlets of the ladies’ shop.
virginity soap

“Our virginity soap has honey extracts and is very effective,” said a salesperson suggesting it be used at least twice a day to get its benefits in about two weeks.

Firmer buttocks, he claimed, could take a bit longer, as one needs to apply the gel for about a month. None of these products conforms to health stipulations.

But retailers swear by them. Ask them if the products have any side effects and the standard response is: “No. It’s all herbal.”

The ‘no side-effect’ claim is repeated for almost every ‘miracle’ product you enquire about, whether it be the ‘super slim bomb’ tea or ‘slim bomb’ capsules, or stuff you can eat or drink to target specific body parts like your belly, buttocks or thighs.

“You can lose even 13-14kg a month with this tea,” boasted a petite salesgirl, claiming she had herself used the tea.

There is however a warning you must read before you get on the next plane to Dubai; the Ministry of Health has urged residents to exercise caution while using herbal products as some of them might contain harmful chemicals.

Several weight loss products were taken off the shelves in recent times after it was found they contained adulterated substances.

Dr Anil Awatramani, general practitioner at Unicare Medical Centre said: “One should be aware of the efficacy or side effects of any product that one is using.

“As a doctor, I would not personally recommend products without knowledge or evidence about their efficacy or side effect,” he warned.

Hmmm! Ladies, what do you think about these products? Have you used such products before? Drop your comments and let us know your experience and advice!

Police save naked hermaphrodite from getting lynched in Sapele

SAPELE — The police in Sapele, yesterday, saved an hermaphrodite who is partly man and partly woman, from being lynched by a mob, when the figure suddenly showed up along New Ogorode road, by Total Filling Station, in Sapele.

An eye witness said the incident led to traffic jam along Sapele/Warri ever busy expressway and the New Ogorode road as commuters and drivers stopped to catch a glimpse.

When Vanguard visited the scene, the fellow was completely naked, with hair covering most part of the body and a mustached face like a man but with a pair of big size breasts dangling on the chest as well as female and male private parts side by side in the pubic area.

Shortly the crowd began to swell as more people trooped in to catch a glimpse until some attempted to lynch the fellow but for the timely intervention of the police who arrived the scene and whisked the fellow away in a police car.

At the Sapele Police Area Office where the fellow was taken, he identified himself as Pastor Henry Enuta but refused to disclose his mission nor why he was naked. All efforts to get words from him by newsmen failed as the fellow only occasionally shook his head regretably.

The DPO of the Sapele Police Station, CSP Kenneth Akubue confirmed the rescue of the fellow.

Scottish Church That Let Muslims In To Pray Hit By Abuse On Facebook

A priest who has allowed Muslims to pray in his church has told how he has been hit by a barrage of abuse by internet 'trolls'.
St John's Episcopal Church became the first church in the UK to share their building with Muslims after Rev Isaac Poobalan saw members of a neighbouring mosque praying outside in the snow because of a lack of space.

rev poobalan
Reverend Poobalan said he would not back down over the abusive comments

Hundred of Muslims now pray in the Aberdeen Church's main hall and chapel every week, but the news has not been well received by some Christians, who have taken to the church's Facebook page to blast the decision.
One user said that the church were "sharing Christ's table with Satan" before others another predicted a "flood" of Muslims moving to Aberdeen to convert the church into a mosque and said Rev Poobalan needed to be given the "boot" before it was too late.
Another posted: "I would leave this so called "church". Allah is Satan, and no God.

People posted abusive messages on the Church's Facebook page

"They (the church) have nothing to say about persecuted Christians, but invite Satan in.
"We are dealing with evil people that bow down to Allah and lost their belief in Jesus a long time ago.
"Allah has no son."

People described the move as 'sharing Christ's table with Satan'

But Rev Poobalan said he would not sever his relationship with the nearby Crown Street Mosque.
He said: "I keep seeing these Facebook comments coming up on my email account, but I will not back down.
"We have developed a relationship with the mosque and we will not be breaking that up.
"These people have reacted spontaneously, but over time I hope they will change their minds.
"There is a huge religious cultural gap between the two, and if it takes time for them to be brought together then that's the way it is.
"With our media culture these days one can easily make comments and respond to things instantaneously, you just have to live with it."
One user even criticised Rev Poobalan for being a Good Samaritan to just be "liked" and said there was nothing "courageous" in his actions.
Rev Poobalan insisted he was not interested in a popularity contest.
He said: "What governed my human response was the Christian teaching 'love your neighbour as yourself' and that was honestly my first thought, 'I have to help them as a neighbour'.
"Jesus Christ wasn't one who wanted to be liked and I don't expect people to like me or the Church for what we do.

"We don't go into this blindly, we go into this knowingly and we don't go around trying to please people.
"It was simply a gut feeling to let them in after seeing someone in the cold praying and I believe that prayer is never wrong.
"There is nothing wrong with making them comfortable."

Kano Explosions: How Low Phone Battery Saved My Life - Survivor

Photo - Kano explosions: How Low Phone Battery Saved My Life - Survivor
One of the survivors of the multiple explosions in Sabon Gari Motor Park, Kano, Emy Osodi, yesterday recounted to Leadership how he escaped death from the explosions that took place on Monday.

An official of a leading telecommunications coy, Osodi disclosed that he was a passenger in one of the bombed Lagos-bound luxurious buses. His last-minute decision to charge his low battery phone saved his life, he said.

According to the survivor, he had just commenced his two-week leave and was looking forward to celebrating the Easter with his family in Lagos.

Staying away from home for almost six months is not his usual way but, due to his tight schedule, he had not been able to visit his family in a while. So, he decided to pay his family a surprise visit by taking the Lagos-bound night bus from Kano to arrive in the morning of Tuesday, but fate had other plans.

A colleague had dropped him off at the park and they spent a few minutes talking about how they would spend the Easter in Lagos.

He bought his ticket and secured a seat inside the luxurious bus after his colleague had driven off. The park was busy as usual with hawkers moving from bus to bus looking for buyers of their wares, travellers queuing to buy tickets, kids playing around and family members saying goodbyes to loved ones.

“It was going to be a long journey and my battery was low. So, I alighted from the bus to charge my phone in a shop as the driver was still awaiting more passengers.

“Some minutes later, I heard a loud noise; more explosions followed. I turned only to see fire caused by the explosion from buses including the bus I alighted from. It was beyond belief.

“People, luggage, buses and shops were burning. As people looked for escape routes, the dead and dying people were trampled upon.

“I stood where I was, shivering and trying to recover from the shock and fear that I would have been in one of the buses that exploded,” Osodi said.

Alleged Thief Accuses Police Of Bias, Tells Them To Focus On Politicians And Senators Who Are The Real Thieves

“I earn N12, 000 a month which is too small. We are all criminals in Nigeria and we have criminal blood in our body so nobody should pretend.”---says alleged thief.

The-suspects_-360x225

A security guard nabbed for allegedly conniving with robbers to steal goods worth over N28m from his employer, has told the police to stop going after petty thieves like him and instead focus their attention on politicians, especially senators and House members, whom he described as the “real thieves.”

The suspect, Garba Sani who works with Honda Place Company, complained that the N12, 000 he received as salary was too meagre and said he had no choice but to take to crime.

He said, “I’m not an armed robber. I was on duty and I called them (other suspects) and we took the goods. We did not carry guns. We have a lot of senators looting and we also need money. There are many thieves in Nigeria and most of us are jobless youths, we have nothing.

“I earn N12, 000 a month which is too small. We are all criminals in Nigeria and we have criminal blood in our body so nobody should pretend.”

The other suspect, Godwin Okwudili, said the police should drop all charges levelled against them since the stolen goods had since been recovered.

“Sani and I live in the same area. He called me that the goods were available and we went to take them. We did not carry guns. I took the goods to my warehouse and we did not sell them. Everything was recovered intact so what do they (police) want again?” he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide who corroborated the suspects’ story, said that Sani, Okwudili, along with the other suspects, Obinna Ilojebe, Ndubuisi Ike and Anthony Etemah were arrested following painstaking investigation which lasted for over eight months.

Andrew Wardle, Man Born Without Penis, To Have Surgery That Will Make Organ From Arm

Andrew Wardle Penis
A man's arm is lending him a hand to fix his penis problem.

Andrew Wardle, a 39-year-old British man born without a penis, will undergo three surgeries over the next year to craft a male sex organ out of his own arm, according to the Sun.
Wardle was born with an ectopic bladder, meaning it's outside of his body. An estimated one in 30 million men are born with the condition, which "usually sees a small fold of skin, less than an inch long, in place of the penis," according to HuffPost UK.
Several operations corrected bladder and kidney problems and enabled him to urinate through a tube.
Verging on suicide a few years ago because of his missing manhood. Wardle visited a doctor who said it's possible to fabricate a functioning member.

From the Sun:
His surgeons must build from scratch a new penis that can pass urine, have feeling, make sex possible and look natural too. They’ll use a large flap of forearm skin, with its blood vessels and nerves, fold it into a tube like a Swiss roll and graft it on to the pubic area.

Despite not being able to have "full sex" with women, Wardle boasted he's had more than 100 partners, according to HuffPost UK.

The Best Ab Exercise…EVER

A woman planking
What is the best ab exercise? What’s the best way to tone every angle of your stomach, including your obliques?

It’s called…a plank. What is a plank? Quite simply, it’s an isometric exercise for the abs (where you perform one action, holding still for the entire duration of the move). You may be learning the plank exercise for the first time or you may already use it regularly in your workouts. But guess what? Most trainers consider the plank to be one of the most effective abs exercises.

Not only does it strengthen and firm your abs, but also works all the core muscles — the back, hips, etc.

How To Perform The Move

Place hands on the floor, wrists or elbows aligned under shoulders, and extend legs back so your body is straight from head to heels. Another version of this is a side plank (shown in photo), where the right hand is on the floor, aligned under shoulders, while the left arm rests on the thigh, the body is lifted off the floor, and the legs are stacked one on top of the other. Hold your position for 30 seconds to 1 minute. If performing the side plank, hold the position for 30 seconds, then switch to the other side (with the left hand on the floor, and the right arm resting on the thigh).

Kano Bombing: How Suicide Bomber Rammed Car-bomb into Passengers Causing the Deadly Explosion

The blasts happened along New Road in Sabon Gari, shortly after 5pm when luxury buses were preparing to travel to other parts of the country.

Survivors told our correspondent that a suicide bomber drove a Volkswagen Golf car into the motor park, meant for passengers traveling to the southern part of the country, and rammed into a Lagos-bound bus which was driving out of the park with dozens of passengers on board. The resulting explosion destroyed the vehicle and set fire to others within the vicinity. There were reports of a second explosion soon after the first one.

Witnesses said many passengers, park attendants and hawkers were caught in the explosions and were burnt beyond recognition, while many others sustained various degrees of injuries. There were conflicting figures of the dead yesterday, with some witnesses saying as many as 60 people were killed.

President of the Ohaneze Ndigbo in Kano State, Chief Tobias Micheal Idika, who said he arrived at the scene immediately after the blast, put the casualty figure at over 60. “I counted over 60 dead bodies and up till now bodies are being removed,” he said. ‘Confusion’ A female survivor Fatima Abdullahi, who was on a business trip to Port Harcourt, told Daily Trust she saw many bodies on the ground after the explosion. “We could see people engulfed in flames inside other buses just before our own also caught fire,” she said.

“The police later started evacuating the dead ones in carts and placing them in vehicles. All the passengers in the first bus perished, as well as other people on the ground, including the attendants that sold ticket to me.” She added that all her luggage and those of her would-be co-travellers were completely destroyed by the resulting fire.

Another witness, Ibrahim Bello, was quoted by Al Jazeera as saying: “I ran for my dear life and managed to get out of the park after the second blast. Many people are lying dead. See, my clothes are covered in blood.” A medic quoted in agency reports also said: “I saw three buses on fire. One of them was fully loaded with passengers waiting to leave the station at the time of the blasts.”
More
A security source confirmed witness accounts of the incident, saying five luxury buses were burnt and scores of passengers killed. He said at least 20 dead bodies had been counted while many others were trapped in the burning buses. A mechanic, Tunde Kazeem, who works at the motor park, said the explosion was “followed by billows of black smoke and there was a lot of confusion with people rushing out of the motor park, some of them with blood on their clothes.”

Another security official told Daily Trust that up to 80 passengers were on board one of the affected vehicles and that probably less than 10 of them survived. He said the casualty level in the attack was the highest after the coordinated attacks in Kano on January 20 last year in which at least 180 people were killed.

Many of the victims were taken to various hospitals within Kano metropolis, including the Armed Forces Hospital, Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital (MMSH), Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) and others. At the MMSH our correspondent counted four severely burnt bodies being moved to the morgue, while dozens of injured people, including women, were being treated at the accident and emergency wing.
Many relations of the victims thronged the hospital crying. A neighbour to one of the victims told our correspondent that his friend, who was a mechanic, had gone to the garage to work when the incident occurred, leaving him with an injured leg.

No group has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attack up to the time of filing this report last night. But suspicion is likely to fall on the insurgent group that claimed previous deadly strikes in Kano. Last year, an explosion of smaller magnitude at the same park left some people dead and others injured.

Breast cancer patients who eat cheese, yogurts or ice cream could HALVE their chances of survival

Eating one portion of a product containing full-fat milk each day could hinder survival chances

The hormone oestrogen found in milk and other dairy foods may encourage tumour growth, say researchers

This is the first study to show such a strong link between dairy products and breast cancer

One ice cream or yoghurt a day could hinder the survival of women with breast cancer, scientists say.
Those with the disease who eat a single portion daily of a product containing full-fat milk could be 50 per cent more likely to die.
US scientists suspect this is because milk and other dairy foods contain the hormone oestrogen, which encourages tumour growth.
There is already some evidence that diet plays a role in improving the chances of surviving cancer and preventing it returning. But this is the first study to show such a strong link between dairy products and breast cancer.

Around one in eight women will develop breast cancer at some point in their lives and there are around 50,000 new cases a year.

Although survival chances are far better than other forms of the illness it still leads to 11,800 deaths annually.
Scientists from the Kaiser Permanente research centre in California looked at the records of 1,500 women diagnosed with breast cancer between 1997 and 2000.
They had all completed questionnaires on how often they consumed dairy products, the sizes of portions and what specifically they ate. The most common were ice cream, yogurts, cheese, full-fat lattes and hot chocolates.
The scientists found that those who ate just one portion of one of these products a day were 50 per cent more likely to die from the illness within 12 years.
Scientists suspect that the hormone oestrogen found in milk and other dairy foods such as ice cream encourages tumour growth
Scientists suspect that the hormone oestrogen found in milk and other dairy foods such as ice cream encourages tumour growth

They point out that most milk consumed in Britain and the U.S. comes from pregnant cows and is rich in the hormone oestrogen.
This is known to trigger tumour growth and there are particularly high levels in full-fat dairy foods.
In fact women who ate one portion of full-fat dairy a day were 64 per cent more likely to die from any cause - not just breast cancer.
Dr Bette Caan, who led the research said: 'High-fat dairy is generally not recommended as part of a healthy diet.
'Switching to low-fat dairy is an easy thing to modify.'
Many women who have just been diagnosed with breast cancer ask their doctor whether they should change their diet.
But so far there is just too little research on the subject for them to give any specific advice.
The research is the first to show such a strong link between dairy products and breast cancer
The research is the first to show such a strong link between dairy products and breast cancer
Susan Kutner, chair Kaiser Permanente Northern California Regional Breast Care Task Force, said: 'Women have been clamouring for this type of information.
'They're asking us, 'Tell me what I should eat?' With this information, we can be more specific about recommending low-fat dairy products.'
Sally Greenbrook, Senior Policy Officer at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, said: 'This study specifically looks at women who have already been diagnosed with breast cancer and how low or high fat dairy products may affect them.
'Any women who have had breast cancer and are concerned about their diet should discuss this with their doctors.
'For a number of health reasons it's advisable that all women should follow a healthy balanced diet. It helps you to maintain a healthy weight which, together with good practices such as lower alcohol intake and regular physical activity, can help to reduce your breast cancer risk and improve overall well-being.
'There are many risk factors for breast cancer, not just diet.'
There is no evidence of a link between hormone replacement therapy and breast cancer, research published in the British Medical Journal suggests.
The study at the University of Cape Town Medical School looked at HRT use and the incidence of breast cancer in 11 countries. It found that the benefits of the drug in alleviating menopause symptoms outweigh any possible risks.

Pubs start selling 100% horsemeat burgers in wake of the scandal... and they're a hit!

  • Two pubs in London have sold hundreds since horsemeat scandal hit
  • Owners say diners are driven by curiosity
  • Sizes vary between the 2oz taster-size Shetland at £4 to the £11 Triple Trojan

Pubs in London have begun to serve horse meat burgers - and found them to be a huge hit with customers.

One pub said demand is so high that it is selling more than 100 in a week. The scandal of horse being labelled as beef has actually helped increase demand for the meat.

The Lord Nelson in Southwark introduced the dish a fortnight ago, while The Three Compasses in Hackney began grilling 100 per cent horse meat burgers earlier this week.

The Three Compasses serves the patties with black pepper mayonnaise, onion, lettuce, pickles, Emmental cheese, ketchup and a fried egg.

Chef Michael Brown - who described the taste as ‘very much like beef in texture and ever so slightly gamey’ - said 50 burgers sold out in hours on Tuesday night.

Owner Lauren Johns said: ‘All across Europe, horse is considered a high-quality meat.

We thought it’d be nice for people to try it and realise it’s really nice if prepared and sourced properly.”

There are four sizes of burger named on an equine theme, from the 2oz taster-size Shetland at £4 to the £11 Triple Trojan. The meat comes from France.

The Lord Nelson serves 8oz burgers with mushrooms and onions for £11. Extra toppings include goats’ cheese, brie and jalapeno peppers. It reported selling more than 100 in a week.

Co-owner Benito Priolo said: ‘It’s leaner and denser than beef and points in the direction of liver.’

For £16, the pub serves the 50/50 Burger - which involves one burger each made from horse and beef.

Boko Haram Murders Two Party Officials Who Welcomed Jonathan To Borno

President Jonathan and Gov. Shettima during his recent visit to Borno

Two top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Borno State were yesterday assassinated by gunmen suspected to be operatives of the Islamist militant group Boko Haram. The slayings came less than one week after the officials participated in welcoming President Goodluck Jonathan during his tour of the troubled state.

The victims were Usman Gula (who was the PDP's vice chairman for Southern Borno), and Hajia Gamboa, who served as the party’s women’s leader for Shehuri ward in Maiduguri. A security source told SaharaReporters that both officials were killed by gunmen yesterday at their respective homes. The source added that, even though no group had claimed responsibility for the assassinations, the State Security Service and the Borno State police command were working on the assumption that the attacks were the handiwork of Boko Haram.

“We’re carrying out our investigations,” the source told SaharaReporters.

Twin Sisters Prostitutes Retire At 70 After Having Sex With 355,000 Men

  • Louise and Martine Fokkens have decided they are now too old
  • Became prostitutes before they were 20 to escape violent relationships
  • Mother-of-four Louise says arthritis makes some positions 'too painful'
  • Complain Amsterdam's prostitutes no longer have 'sense of community'

Twin sisters believed to be Amsterdam's oldest prostitutes have retired after more than 50 years each in the sex trade.

Louise and Martine Fokkens, 70, have finally decided they are too old for the business after claiming to have slept with 355,000 men between them in a combined 100-year career.

Louise, a mother of four, has said her arthritis now makes some sexual positions 'too painful'.

Scroll down for video

And mother-of-three Martine admits she is finding it hard to attract new punters - except one elderly man who still comes for his weekly sado-maschism session.

She said: "I couldn't give him up. He's been coming to me for so long it's like going to church on a Sunday."

The pair were the subject of a documentary film last year called Meet the Fokkens, and have now written a book about their combined 100-years of sexual exploits called The Ladies of Amsterdam.

Both women - who usually dress in identical red clothes - became prostitutes before the age of 20 to survive financially after escaping violent relationships.

They now look back on the 'golden years' of the profession before the Netherlands legalised prostitution and the sex trade was invaded by 'eastern European mafia'.

Louise said: "It is very different now. We used to sit in the windows with clothes on. Today they are totally naked.

"There are few Dutch women and no sense of community these days."Photo - Amsterdam's oldest prostitutes retire at 70 after having sex with 355,000 men

Martine added: "The legalisation of brothels in 2000 has not improved prostitutes' lives.

"There is no point working just for tax. That is why the girls are working from the internet and from home - you are less likely to be spotted by the taxman.

"It is better for the pimps and the foreigners, but not for the Dutch girls."

Martine and Louise said they now hoped to be able to live off their earnings from the book and film rights.

Robbers Invade Lagos Airport, Kill Two Policemen

Heavily armed robbers on Wednesday night invaded the International Wing of the Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos, killed two policemen and made away with a huge amount of foreign currencies from some bureau-de-change operators at nation’s premier gateway, officials said.

The dare devil robbers, who arrived the airport some few minutes to nine, headed for the BDC operators centre near the car park and started shooting sporadically, eyewitnesses said.

The robbers, numbering over 10, were said to have been engaged in a gun duel for about 30 minutes by policemen attached to the airport.

The gunfight, it was learnt, resulted in the death of two policemen and one armed robber, who was said to have tied local magical bands all over his arms and body.

As at a few minutes past 9pm, the two dead policemen were being conveyed in a van to the mortuary, according to eyewitnesses.

The Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, Mr. Bayo Ajileye, could not be reached for comments. His telephone line was switched off when our correspondent made a call.

However, the General Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr. Yakubu Dati, confirmed the robbery.

He, however, said he could only confirm the death of one of the robbers. He said the level of casualties was being ascertained.

He added, “The situation has since been brought under control by the swift intervention of joint security force. They were apparently attempting to rob a bureau de change operator near the airport. Normal operations and flight have not been affected by the incident.”

The event has exposed the porous security network of the nation’s flagship airport.

Last year, robbers came to the airport and made away with millions of dollars from BDC operators.

An eyewitness said the robbers came into the airport through the car park.

Jailed: Odosa Usiobaifo, 35, from Enfield, was found guilty of conspiring to traffick young girls for the purposes of sexual exploitation
A man has been jailed for 14 years for his role in the 'horrific' ordeal of two teenage girls being trafficked via London to work as prostitutes in mainland Europe.
A court heard Odosa Usiobaifo, 35, from Enfield, north London, was involved in a 'significant' organised crime gang trafficking young women for the purposes of sexual exploitation.
Usiobaifo was arrested after two Nigerian girls missing from local authority care in London were given false passports and tickets and placed on a flight to Spain.
The 35-year-old, who had collected the girls from a pre-arranged meeting point before they were given the false documents and put on the flight, was found guilty of conspiring to traffick for the purposes of sexual exploitation following a four-week trial at Isleworth Crown Court.
He had pleaded guilty to conspiring to facilitate illegal immigration earlier in the trial.
The court heard the girls, aged 14 and 15 at the time, had previously been stopped by Border Force officers at Heathrow Airport separately on September 17 and November 23 2011. Both were using false passports which indicated they were adults.
They had arrived on flights from Lagos, Nigeria, and were attempting to travel on to Paris, the trial heard.

During interviews with the Serious Organised Crime Agency's Vulnerable Persons Team it became clear that the pair were being trafficked to mainland Europe, via London, for the purposes of sexual exploitation.

Usiobaifo was arrested at his flat in Enfield on 3 September 2012 alongside his partner Katie Igha, 25.

Senior investigating officer Jonathan Bush, from the UK Border Agency's Criminal and Financial Investigation team, said: 'We believe our investigation has disrupted a significant organised crime group suspected of being involved in the trafficking of young women into Europe through London.

'The ordeal these girls went through was horrific and tragically one of them remains missing.

'Working with Border Force, the police and SOCA we are determined to do all we can to stop the abhorrent crime of trafficking.'

Chief Inspector Jo Banks, who led the Sussex Police investigation into the girls' disappearance, said: 'This was a joint investigation with the UK Border Agency that led to the identification of Usiobaifo, and after a complex investigation showed his involvement in an organised crime group with the aim of trafficking young women for sexual exploitation.

'The two girls went through a turbulent ordeal, clearly aware of what was intended for them, and under the control of the traffickers. We will continue to search for girl who remains missing.'

A joint UK Border Agency and Border Force investigation, codenamed Operation Hudson, has involved law enforcement agencies in Britain and abroad. It is targeting a number of organised crime groups suspected of trafficking young women, via London, for the purposes of sexual exploitation.

Talking African Dolls Challenge Racial Stereotypes...Meet The Rooti Dolls

Meet the Rooti dolls! Talking African figures wearing colourful clothes challenge racial stereotypes by breaking the Barbie mould

  • Dolls created by Chris and Ada Ngoforo who felt their children did not know enough about their roots
  • The couple have now made 12 dolls from different African countries
  • Each doll can speak a range of different African languages

A range of dolls have been created to help children of African origin to stay in touch with their heritage.

The dolls were created by Chris and Ada Ngoforo, from London, who were concerned their children did not know about their West African roots.

They decided to take matters into their own hands and what started off as project to help their family, has now transformed into a business venture.
Ama is described as a 'bubbling dynamic girl' whose 'dream is to be a doctor someday,' says the company's website. She speaks the Ghanaian languages of Twi, Ga, Ewe and Krobo
Nubya is originally from Cape-Town whose parents moved to London years before her birth, say her creators. The doll is programmed to speak Zulu, Xhosa, Sotho, and Afrikaans

They have launched their own range of toys, called Rooti Dolls, which are programmed to speak in several native African languages.

The couple have now made 12 dolls from different African countries.

Chris Ngoforo told CNN: 'We observed that over 90 per cent of children born or living in the diaspora and millions in Africa do not speak or understand their mother tongues.

'Our research made us understand that the reason for this is not because our children don't want to learn their mother tongues, but more because there are not many essential tools that can easily be both educational and fun at the same time.'
Shiroh, of Kenyan and Somali mixed origin can speak a range of languages, including Swahili, Kikuyu and Luganda
Keza parents are from Zimbabwe and Zambia, so she can speak Shona, Ndebele, Bemba, and Nyanja

Among the dolls is Nina, who can speak Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa and Ibibio and loves to watch 'Nollywood' - popular term for Nigerian movies.

Then there is Ama, who dreams to be a doctor, and can speak the Ghanaian languages of Twi, Ga, Ewe and Krobo.

The couple hope the dolls will breakdown stereotypes and provide a more accurate representation of black people.

Debbie Behan Garrett, author of 'The Definitive Guide to Collecting Black Dolls', said: 'Today's black dolls have evolved from negative caricatures to play-scale representations of haute couture fashion models and other positive images of babies, toddlers and adult black people.'

Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina is now Pope Francis...First ever non-european pope

Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio Of Buenos Aires, has been elected to be the 266th pope of the Catholic Church, taking the name Pope Francis.

Francisco appeared on the balcony of St. Peter's Basilica at Wednesday more than an hour after white smoke was released from the Sistine Chapel chimney at 2:05 EDT (7:05 p.m. CET) to signal that a new pope had been selected. Speaking from the balcony, he gave his first address as pope, the traditional Urbi et Orbi (to the "City and the World"), as crowds waved, cried and cheered for the new leader of the world's 1.2 billion Catholics.

He prayed for the church, the papacy and for his predecessor, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.

Francis, a Jesuit priest, was elected to the papacy after two days of conclave meetings with a total of five ballots cast. Voting in the conclave, which began Tuesday afternoon, is confidential and cardinals were sworn to secrecy, but Francis received at least 77 votes, which is the minimum two-thirds required to become pope. There were 115 cardinals eligible to vote in the conclave. All were under 80 before Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI's retirement, as required by Vatican rules. In 2005, when Benedict was elected, it took two days and four votes to elect him.

Francis, whose papacy is effective immediately, will be formally installed in the coming days. It's unclear when the installation Mass will happen, but Vatican spokesman Fr. Frederico Lombardi said earlier on Wednesday that Tuesday, March 19, the feast of St. Joseph, is a possible date. He spoke before white smoke signalled news of a new pope, and it was unclear if he expected a decision on Wednesday. Lombardi also said in the same interview that the new pope would likely celebrate Mass with cardinals the morning after his election.

The date of a papal installation typically begins with a visit with cardinals to the grottos of St. Peter's Basilica, where the first pope, St. Peter, is said to be buried. There, the new pope is expected to say, "I leave from where the apostle arrived" before a procession to the square and an installation Mass (the Mass lasted two hours for Benedict's installation in 2005).

At the installation Mass, Francis is expected to receive the Fisherman's Ring made for his papacy (the one Benedict wore was given up when he retired on Feb. 28 and purposefully damaged by Vatican authorities per tradition) as well as the pallium, the woolen stole that's a symbol of his authority.

When Benedict was elected, 12 church representatives knelt in front of him at the installation: three cardinals, one bishop, a priest, a deacon, a married couple, a nun and man from a religious order, and two young people who have had their confirmations -- a key sacrament of the faith. A similar group is expected to kneel in front of Francis as a symbolic pledge of obedience.

After the Mass, the new pope customarily is driven around St. Peter's Square to greet groups of priests and laypeople from around the world who have come to see him. In the days after, he is expected to visit the three main Roman basilicas aside from St. Peter's: St. Paul's, St. John Lateran's and St. Mary Major's. The first visit is usually to St. Paul -- outside the Vatican City walls.

For his first few weeks as pope, Francis will live in a temporary apartment away from the official papal residence. Vatican spokesman Lombardi previously showed reporters a video of new pope's short-term home, which has a study, a sitting area and a carving of Jesus Christ's face on the headboard of the bed. Francis will stay there while the official papal apartment is renovated. The apartment was sealed after Benedict's resignation and church rules say it can't be reopened for any reason until there is a new pope.

White smoke from Sistine Chapel indicates new pope elected

Identity of Benedict XVI’s successor expected to be revealed shortly

The Catholic church has chosen a new pope.

White smoke is billowing from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel, meaning 115 cardinals in a papal conclave have elected a new leader for the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics.

The new pope is expected to appear on the balcony of St Peter’s Basilica within an hour, after a church official announces “Habemus Papum” — “We have a pope” — and gives the name of the new pontiff in Latin.

The conclave was called after Pope Benedict XVI resigned last month, throwing the church into turmoil and exposing deep divisions among cardinals tasked with finding a manager to clean up a corrupt Vatican bureaucracy as well as a pastor who can revive Catholicism in a time of growing secularism.

Balloting began yesterday and black smoke had poured from the chimney on three occasions since, indicating no agreement had been reached.

The 115 cardinal electors under the age of 80 will vote up to four times day thereafter until one of their number receives a two-thirds majority, or 77 votes.

No conclave has lasted than more than five days in the past century. Pope Benedict was elected within barely 24 hours in 2005 after just four rounds of voting.

PHOTO : Retired Prisons Official Caught Selling Human Parts

Its quite alarming to me, the rate at which a good number of ritualists and dealers in human parts are being caught in their evil acts. What is really happening in the society? People are turning to animals. Is it the quest for riches and power pushing these people to do these barbaric acts?

These questions and more must have been playing on the minds of many when they beheld with shock, Inspector Ajayi who claims to be a former staff of the Nigerian Prisons Service, as he was recently nabbed with human parts in Ilesa, Osun state.
