SHOCKING: Musician Kills Friend During A Fight Over N50000, Hides Corpse In Gutter

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old recording artiste, Obinna Obodo, for the alleged murder of his friend identified simply as Elijah.

The suspect said he killed his friend during a fight over N50, 000 and then hid his corpse in a drainage in his compound at Orile. However the police said the fight was caused by a piano the deceased sold to the suspect.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said the suspect also demanded ransom from the boss of the deceased.

She said, “The deceased sold a piano to the suspect (Obodo) and the suspect was not able to pay in full. An argument ensued between the two and Obodo used a stool to hit the deceased on the head and he (Elijah) died instantly. The suspect then tied the corpse and put it in a bag.

“While attempting to dispose of the corpse, the suspect was accosted by someone. The suspect then begged the person not to expose him and promised him the sum of N200,000. Obodo then gave the deceased’s phone to the man and told him to demand a ransom from the deceased’s boss.

“The boss reported to the police at Orile Police Station and the suspects were arrested but later released on bail. However, when Elijah’s corpse started decomposing and smelling, residents alerted the police. The suspects were re-arrested and they confessed.”

Obodo however said he killed his friend mistakenly. He said the deceased gave him N50,000 to keep but he used the money to pay for recording time at a studio. He said it was the deceased that first attacked him.

He said, “I didn’t kill him on purpose. He brought the money to me and told me to keep it for him. I’m a recording artiste so I used the money to pay for recording time. When Elijah came to my house to collect the money, I told him I didn’t have it. He got angry and picked up a stove and hit me with it. I immediately picked up a stool and hit him with it on the head and he collapsed.

“I got some water and poured it in his face but he didn’t wake up. That was when I knew that he had died. I knew that if I told his family, they would want to kill me so I hid the corpse. However, when I needed more money to promote my album I decided to demand $8,000 as ransom from his boss.

“I was arrested in the process and remained in police custody for three weeks but didn’t confess. After I was granted bail, I went to church to confess my sins. I think it was someone at the church that informed the police which then led to my arrest.”

DMX tells website Globalgrind.com, “I read the whole bible. I just been made a deacon at the church I used to go to… I would like my first sermon to be there or in Yonkers.

“The biggest step is not in the studying, reading, but the wanting to change the way you live. Wanting different things for yourself, and making that change because if you still want to drink and smoke, you could read as much as you want, that doesn’t mean you’re ready.”

Converted: After bringing the world to Harlem, Bad Boy rapper Mase left rap during the peak of his career to preach in the pulpit. In 2004, Mase decided to leave the pulpit to try his hand at rapping again. He dropped his third album, "Welcome Back," and signed a deal with 50 Cent's G-Unit in 2005. Eventually he was reminded that the rap game wasn't for him and went back under the radar. Nollywood Actor Jailed For Gay Sex

A 28-year old actor, Bestwood Chukwuemeka, was on Monday sentenced to three-month imprisonment by a Karu Senior Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for having sexual intercourse with another man through the anus. The convict, who resides at Gidan Mangoro, had pleaded guilty to having engaged in homosexual acts. “I am guilty of the charge against me. I was under the influence of alcohol and I want the court to temper justice with mercy’’, he said. The police prosecutor, Mohammed Umar, had told the court that the convict committed the offence in August when the complainant was sleeping in his bed.Homosexual acts, the prosecutor said, was contrary to Section 284 of the Penal Code.The prosecutor said since Mr. Chukwuemeka had pleaded guilty to the crime he initially denied, the court should try him summarily. The Senior Magistrate, Nafisatu Buba, sentenced him to three-month imprisonment without an option of fine. “This would serve as warning to other youths who hide under the influence of alcohol to commit crimes,’’ she said.When he was first arraigned in early September, Mr. Chukwuemeka pleaded not guilty, saying, “I came back drunk from the night club and thought I was sleeping on the same bed with my girl-friend and I started romancing her.” At that hearing, Mrs Buba, had ruled that alcohol should not be seen as an excuse for committing the offence, but then granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, with one of the sureties being a civil servant on Grade Level 09. However, when the case was heard Monday, the actor suddenly pleaded guilty, and Mrs Buba summarily tried him, sentencing him to three-month imprisonment.Homosexuality and lesbianism are seriously frowned at in Nigeria.In November, the Nigerian Senate passed a strict law banning same-sex marriage and public display of affection by gays in Nigeria. A woman, Maryrose Onuigbo, has urged the Nigerian Army authorities to prevail on her soldier husband, Kenneth Onuigbo, to reunite her with her children.

“I don’t want any other thing on earth apart from being reunited with my three children,” Maryrose said.

Maryrose told PUNCH Metro that Kenneth, an army sergeant attached to 81 Division, Lagos, was a hot-tempered man who brutalised her occasionally even when she was pregnant.

She said he brutalised her during an argument on June 23, 2012 after which she fell unconscious.

SHOCKING: Dead Child Found In Man’s Suitcase

 

The police have arrested a man, Usman Inuwa, with the corpse of a three-year -old child in a suitcase.

The suspect resident in Bwari, a satellite town in Abuja, was said to have been arrested by security personnel after a tip-off at Maitama area of the city.

He was said to have been accosted by security operatives who demanded that he should open the suitcase.

The suspect, who initially tried to bluff his way out of the situation, had his suitcase forcibly opened and the corpse of the young child packed in a foetal position was found in it.

Our correspondent gathered that investigators interrogating him were working on the theory that he might have been recruited by someone to bring the corpse for ritual purposes. It is believed that Inuwa might have kidnapped and killed his victim.

The police said that they were working to unravel the identity of the child with a view to tracing his parents and getting other information that would lead to the arrest of other suspects.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Doris England, who confirmed Inuwa’s arrest, added that the suspect had yet to mention the names of his accomplices.

“The suspect was arrested at Maitama on Saturday and is presently in custody undergoing interrogation; he has yet to name his accomplices and other issues surrounding the dead child,” England said.
