Soaps That Restore Virginity.... Gels That Push Up Hips….

This one is for the ladies – I heard about a store in Dubai, UAE that sells products that can get you the kind of curves you’ve always dreamt of. You want one like Jennifer Lopez’s or Nicki Minaj’s? You could get Shakira’s for less than Dh60 (about N1,100).

The shop, Dragon Mart sells ladies’ products ranging from a Dh25 virginity soap that promises to tighten muscles, to a Dh60 (about N2570) gel that claims to push your ‘hip up’, dozens of dubious products are selling like hotcakes at various outlets of the ladies’ shop.

“Our virginity soap has honey extracts and is very effective,” said a salesperson suggesting it be used at least twice a day to get its benefits in about two weeks.

Firmer buttocks, he claimed, could take a bit longer, as one needs to apply the gel for about a month. None of these products conforms to health stipulations.

But retailers swear by them. Ask them if the products have any side effects and the standard response is: “No. It’s all herbal.”

The ‘no side-effect’ claim is repeated for almost every ‘miracle’ product you enquire about, whether it be the ‘super slim bomb’ tea or ‘slim bomb’ capsules, or stuff you can eat or drink to target specific body parts like your belly, buttocks or thighs.

“You can lose even 13-14kg a month with this tea,” boasted a petite salesgirl, claiming she had herself used the tea.

There is however a warning you must read before you get on the next plane to Dubai; the Ministry of Health has urged residents to exercise caution while using herbal products as some of them might contain harmful chemicals.

Several weight loss products were taken off the shelves in recent times after it was found they contained adulterated substances.

Dr Anil Awatramani, general practitioner at Unicare Medical Centre said: “One should be aware of the efficacy or side effects of any product that one is using.

“As a doctor, I would not personally recommend products without knowledge or evidence about their efficacy or side effect,” he warned.

Hmmm! Ladies, what do you think about these products? Have you used such products before? Drop your comments and let us know your experience and advice!

Police save naked hermaphrodite from getting lynched in Sapele

SAPELE — The police in Sapele, yesterday, saved an hermaphrodite who is partly man and partly woman, from being lynched by a mob, when the figure suddenly showed up along New Ogorode road, by Total Filling Station, in Sapele.

An eye witness said the incident led to traffic jam along Sapele/Warri ever busy expressway and the New Ogorode road as commuters and drivers stopped to catch a glimpse.

When Vanguard visited the scene, the fellow was completely naked, with hair covering most part of the body and a mustached face like a man but with a pair of big size breasts dangling on the chest as well as female and male private parts side by side in the pubic area.

Shortly the crowd began to swell as more people trooped in to catch a glimpse until some attempted to lynch the fellow but for the timely intervention of the police who arrived the scene and whisked the fellow away in a police car.

At the Sapele Police Area Office where the fellow was taken, he identified himself as Pastor Henry Enuta but refused to disclose his mission nor why he was naked. All efforts to get words from him by newsmen failed as the fellow only occasionally shook his head regretably.

The DPO of the Sapele Police Station, CSP Kenneth Akubue confirmed the rescue of the fellow.

Scottish Church That Let Muslims In To Pray Hit By Abuse On Facebook

A priest who has allowed Muslims to pray in his church has told how he has been hit by a barrage of abuse by internet 'trolls'.
St John's Episcopal Church became the first church in the UK to share their building with Muslims after Rev Isaac Poobalan saw members of a neighbouring mosque praying outside in the snow because of a lack of space.

Reverend Poobalan said he would not back down over the abusive comments

Hundred of Muslims now pray in the Aberdeen Church's main hall and chapel every week, but the news has not been well received by some Christians, who have taken to the church's Facebook page to blast the decision.
One user said that the church were "sharing Christ's table with Satan" before others another predicted a "flood" of Muslims moving to Aberdeen to convert the church into a mosque and said Rev Poobalan needed to be given the "boot" before it was too late.
Another posted: "I would leave this so called "church". Allah is Satan, and no God.

"They (the church) have nothing to say about persecuted Christians, but invite Satan in.
"We are dealing with evil people that bow down to Allah and lost their belief in Jesus a long time ago.
"Allah has no son."

But Rev Poobalan said he would not sever his relationship with the nearby Crown Street Mosque.
He said: "I keep seeing these Facebook comments coming up on my email account, but I will not back down.
"We have developed a relationship with the mosque and we will not be breaking that up.
"These people have reacted spontaneously, but over time I hope they will change their minds.
"There is a huge religious cultural gap between the two, and if it takes time for them to be brought together then that's the way it is.
"With our media culture these days one can easily make comments and respond to things instantaneously, you just have to live with it."
One user even criticised Rev Poobalan for being a Good Samaritan to just be "liked" and said there was nothing "courageous" in his actions.
Rev Poobalan insisted he was not interested in a popularity contest.
He said: "What governed my human response was the Christian teaching 'love your neighbour as yourself' and that was honestly my first thought, 'I have to help them as a neighbour'.
"Jesus Christ wasn't one who wanted to be liked and I don't expect people to like me or the Church for what we do.

"We don't go into this blindly, we go into this knowingly and we don't go around trying to please people.
"It was simply a gut feeling to let them in after seeing someone in the cold praying and I believe that prayer is never wrong.
"There is nothing wrong with making them comfortable."

Kano Explosions: How Low Phone Battery Saved My Life - Survivor

Photo - Kano explosions: How Low Phone Battery Saved My Life - Survivor
One of the survivors of the multiple explosions in Sabon Gari Motor Park, Kano, Emy Osodi, yesterday recounted to Leadership how he escaped death from the explosions that took place on Monday.

An official of a leading telecommunications coy, Osodi disclosed that he was a passenger in one of the bombed Lagos-bound luxurious buses. His last-minute decision to charge his low battery phone saved his life, he said.

According to the survivor, he had just commenced his two-week leave and was looking forward to celebrating the Easter with his family in Lagos.

Staying away from home for almost six months is not his usual way but, due to his tight schedule, he had not been able to visit his family in a while. So, he decided to pay his family a surprise visit by taking the Lagos-bound night bus from Kano to arrive in the morning of Tuesday, but fate had other plans.

A colleague had dropped him off at the park and they spent a few minutes talking about how they would spend the Easter in Lagos.

He bought his ticket and secured a seat inside the luxurious bus after his colleague had driven off. The park was busy as usual with hawkers moving from bus to bus looking for buyers of their wares, travellers queuing to buy tickets, kids playing around and family members saying goodbyes to loved ones.

“It was going to be a long journey and my battery was low. So, I alighted from the bus to charge my phone in a shop as the driver was still awaiting more passengers.

“Some minutes later, I heard a loud noise; more explosions followed. I turned only to see fire caused by the explosion from buses including the bus I alighted from. It was beyond belief.

“People, luggage, buses and shops were burning. As people looked for escape routes, the dead and dying people were trampled upon.

“I stood where I was, shivering and trying to recover from the shock and fear that I would have been in one of the buses that exploded,” Osodi said.

Alleged Thief Accuses Police Of Bias, Tells Them To Focus On Politicians And Senators Who Are The Real Thieves

“I earn N12, 000 a month which is too small. We are all criminals in Nigeria and we have criminal blood in our body so nobody should pretend.”---says alleged thief.

A security guard nabbed for allegedly conniving with robbers to steal goods worth over N28m from his employer, has told the police to stop going after petty thieves like him and instead focus their attention on politicians, especially senators and House members, whom he described as the “real thieves.”

The suspect, Garba Sani who works with Honda Place Company, complained that the N12, 000 he received as salary was too meagre and said he had no choice but to take to crime.

He said, “I’m not an armed robber. I was on duty and I called them (other suspects) and we took the goods. We did not carry guns. We have a lot of senators looting and we also need money. There are many thieves in Nigeria and most of us are jobless youths, we have nothing.

“I earn N12, 000 a month which is too small. We are all criminals in Nigeria and we have criminal blood in our body so nobody should pretend.”

The other suspect, Godwin Okwudili, said the police should drop all charges levelled against them since the stolen goods had since been recovered.

“Sani and I live in the same area. He called me that the goods were available and we went to take them. We did not carry guns. I took the goods to my warehouse and we did not sell them. Everything was recovered intact so what do they (police) want again?” he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide who corroborated the suspects’ story, said that Sani, Okwudili, along with the other suspects, Obinna Ilojebe, Ndubuisi Ike and Anthony Etemah were arrested following painstaking investigation which lasted for over eight months.
