After two months of anticipation, Kim Kardashian's rapper boyfriend Kanye West has revealed the first picture of their baby daughter.

A cherubic photo of baby North West, who was born on June 15, was unveiled on matriarch Kris Jenner's chat show on Friday during the rapper's highly publicized appearance.

During an interview with the excited grandmother, the proud new father, 36, shared the photo with the audience and millions of viewers across America.

First picture: After weeks of anticipation, Kanye West shared a snap of his daughter North on Kris Jenner's chat show on Friday

Baby North pic unveiled for the first time on Kris

A snap of baby North flashed up on the screen after Kanye and Kris sat down to discuss the new addition to the family.

And it is clear from the image that the tiny baby possesses features from both her mother and father.

'How cute is that gorgeous baby!! Who do you think she looks like?' Kris gushed over the snap, to which Kanye responded with a laugh: 'I pray that she looks like her mother when she's older.'

Kris told the singer that she thought that her granddaughter was an 'amazing combination' of both Kim and Kanye.

Ratings boost: Kanye sat down and chatted to Kris Jenner in an exclusive interview on Friday on her chat show

'I think she is an amazing combination of the two of you. She is so adorable. She has Kim's eyes, I think she has your cheeks and both of your lips. Some days she has your lips and some days she has Kim's lips,' she said.

'They dissect her,' Kris explained to the audience.

'Kim would go "Look at her ears mom, look at her ears!" It is so cute how obsessed you guys are.'

Before showing the snap, Kanye categorically denied that he and Kim had tried to shop first images of their daughter to the media.

Doting dad: The rapper said he hoped his daughter would grow up to look like Kim

'She's my joy': Kanye West on Kim Kardashian

'It's all this talk about baby pictures and "can you get paid for the baby picture or do you want to put it on a magazine,"' he explained.

'And for me and your daughter we have not attempted to get paid for anything, we have not attempted to put it on a magazine.'

He said he decided to share the snap on Kris's show because he wanted to please little North's grandmother.

'You just stop all of the noise and I thought it would be really cool on her grandmother's season finale to bring a picture of North,' he said.

It was then when he shared the snap, much to the delight of a cheering audience.

During the interview, Kris asked Kanye whether he hopes baby North will follow in her father's footsteps and become a 'rapper'.

We get along! Kanye and Kris, who are rumoured to have tense relationship, swore that they get along in the interview, with the Kardashian/Jenner matriarch telling the rapper she often misses him when he goes away

Kanye told her that he and Kim would be encouraging their daughter to make her own decisions.

'I am going to give her the opportunity to develop her different skill sets and then decide what she is the best at,' he explained.

'...and we will give her the support and let her follow what she loves the most.'

Kanye had previously hinted that he didn't want his child to be in the spotlight, declaring: 'This isn't America's baby.'

But it seems he had a change of heart and decided to share the image of North in a bid to boost Jenner's TV ratings. (Kim, 32, didn't make an appearance on the show but he shared several romantic pictures from their private album).

Opening up: In the emotional and no holds bar interview, Kanye showed a very different and much softer side

Before he showed off the new addition, Kanye opened up about his precious daughter.

He told Kris that she had brought a lot of stability in his life.

'To me it is such a blessing. I feel it is going to give me the stability that I need to really create and do god's work,' he explained.

'She (North) is someone to be accountable for and responsible for.'

It had been widely reported that Stronger star had struggled with the loss of his mother Donda when she died of complications from cosmetic surgery in 2007.

Kanye West reveals Kim Kardashian and his baby North 'saved him'

And Kanye revealed to Kris the depths of despair he went through, telling her that he 'felt like he had nothing to live for'.

But he said his saving grace came in the form of Kris's daughter Kim and the couple's new baby girl.

The media shy 36-year-old explained that before Kim came along he was constantly 'putting his life at risk' .

She's made me a better person: Kanye told Kris that her daughter had made him a calmer person and taught him how to communicate better with others

Cameroonian lady arrested in Calabar for buying a 3-day-old baby for N1.2m

Child trafficking and abuse issues are becoming an everyday thing in Nigeria and something has to be done really fast to protect our children. Children are being bought and sold, abused, married off, etc. Just a couple of days ago i blogged about 25 children who were rescued from a suspected trafficker. Here is another one from Vanguard...

A 42-year-old Cameroonian lady who gave her name as Evelyn Atemkeng was, Wednesday, arrested in Calabar with a three-day-old baby she allegedly bought for N1.2 million.

Mrs Atemkeng accompanied by her 70-year-old mother, Anastasia Fambong, was said to have bought the baby boy from a matron of a clinic in Delta State into whose account she paid the N1.2 million.

Commander of the Cross River State Immigration Command, Mr Samuel Ichoi, who ordered the arrest of the woman told Vanguard in his office that his men accosted the lady while boarding a ship to Cameroon and after interrogation, she confessed that she bought the baby.

Mrs Evelyn Atemkeng, the suspect and the baby.

He said: “The lady came from Cameron on Friday without any sign of pregnancy but this morning (Wednesday) she was found to be carrying a baby and when my men examined her there were no signs that she just gave birth, so she and the baby were apprehended.”

According to Igoche, the lady also claimed that in May last year, she was given some herbs at Okigwe where she “miraculously gave birth to a baby girl who is now in Cameroon.”

However, the lady who said she is a teacher in the North-West region of Cameron told Vanguard that she gave birth to the baby and that N1.2 million she paid into the account of the matron was for delivery and herbs she gave to her to aid delivery.

She said: “She (matron) said my breast would start producing milk in three weeks but for now the baby is taking baby food.”

According to her, she does not have anybody in Cameroon to take care of her, that was why she came to Nigeria to deliver before returning to her country.

“I am married and my husband is in Cameroon but there is nobody to take care of me in Cameroon, that was why I came to Nigeria to deliver,” she said.

The Anti Human Trafficking Officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service at the Calabar Port, Mrs Agbor Ojong Ogar, said she took time to examine the woman and she does not have any sign that she just gave birth.

She said: “The woman passed here on Friday, she left on Saturday and returned to Calabar on Tuesday and was heading back to Cameron with a baby and when we examined her she does not have any sign of having given birth recently.”

Mutilated body of a toddler found in Ibadan

According to Punch, the body of a two-year-old girl was found on Tuesday at the Olodo area of Ibadan with some parts of her body missing.

It was learnt that residents of the area found the decomposing body about midday with no clue to her identity or how she got to the scene. The residents reportedly alerted the police immediately.

The baby’s left leg had been cut off from the knee, while some of the toes on the right leg were missing.

The body was also said to have been found without one of her hands, while a large chunk of flesh from her lap area, was also cut off.

Residents said that they were not ruling out ritual motive for the act. They also described the development as strange, saying they had enjoyed a peaceful and a crime-free environment before now.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Olabisi Ilobanafor, told PUNCH Metro that the body had been evacuated, adding that investigation was ongoing to arrest perpetrators of the “dastardly” act.

She said, “We were alerted by the residents of the area on the finding of a toddler’s body and we responded immediately. We have yet to get to the root of the incident or know the identity of the corpse or how it got to that place.

“That is why we are calling on anyone with any information relating to the mutilation and dumping of the girl’s corpse to come forward. We promise to protect the identity of the informant. The local government authority in the area was alerted by the police and the body was promptly removed from the scene.”

Ilobanafor also said reports of missing persons were on the increase, adding that while some of the missing persons had been found, others were still being investigated.

“We have cases of missing persons but we have yet to find any link to the recent discovery as no one has come out to claim knowing the toddler,” she said.

25 Children Rescued From Suspected Trafficker

Officials of the Lagos State Government have rescued 25 children from a suspected child trafficker at Egbeda area of Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

•Mrs. Nwachukwu

The suspect, Mrs Rosemary Nwachukwu, has been arrested and detained at the Alausa Police Station, while the children are currently under the custody of the Lagos State Government.

Nwachukwu is said to operate an illegal orphanage by the name Saint Stephen Charity Foundation, a home for orphans and less privileged located at 30/32 Abiodun Adebanbo Street, Egbeda.

Officials of the Office of Youth and Social Department led by the Director, Child Development, Mrs Alaba Fadairo and officers from the Office of Public Defender, OPD, backed by policemen stormed the illegal orphanage home and rescued the children.

The age of the children range between three months and 12 years. They comprise three infants aged 3-6 months and 22 other children.

According to the Director, OPD, Mrs Omotola Rotimi, it was discovered upon investigation that Nwachukwu trafficked 27 children who were kept in a room.

Raimi said the woman allegedly used the children to raise money and defraud innocent members of the public who needed to adopt children, adding that 25 children were rescued while the whereabouts of the remaining two were unknown.

According to Fadairo, the Director, Child Development, the illegal business was being conducted in a room in the residential building, saying that upon investigation, it was discovered Nwachkwu had been engaging in various anti-child development activities, such as illegal adoption, trafficking and others which she said, were carried out with selfish reasons.

“Investigation also shows that there are no records on each of the children and no evidence of how the children got to her home and no form of police or security report,” she explained.

•The 25 children rescued from the suspected human trafficker

Fadairo warned members of the public to be vigilant and report such cases of child trafficking to the media or the government for necessary action.

She stated people and organizations that operated unapproved or illegal orphanages would be arrested and prosecuted for human trafficking.

The suspect, Nwachukwu said she had been running the illegal orphanage home for the past 18 years and that it was purely on charity basis, denying that she trafficked in children.

Residents in the area said they never knew such orphanage home existed, while the police are still investigating the issue.

The OPD has vowed to charge the alleged culprit to court after investigation had been concluded as the Deputy Governor of Lagos, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire is very much interested in the case.

Mysterious Monsterlike Creature Washes Ashore In Spain

Image: Sea monster

Maria Sanchez / EFE / Spanish Civil Protection via EPA

A series of pictures provided by Spanish Civil Protection on Aug. 16 shows the creature found by residents in the Spanish coastal village of Villaricos. The carcass, measuring four to five meters in length, was smelly and in an advanced state of decomposition.

What could it be? Remains of some kind of a shrk? Oarfish? Sea Monster? Loch Ness? Hmmm!
According to experts, it sure looks like the remains of a giant oarfish or thresher shark.

This is the latest in a string of "sea serpent" stories which has sparked an online buzz in the past few days, thanks to the gnarly-looking pictures that surfaced in the Spanish press last week.

"It's hard to tell," David Shiffman, a University of Miami shark researcher who blogs about marine biology on Southern Fried Science, told NBC News in a Twitter exchange, "but the official guess that it could be a thresher shark seems plausible."

Robert Mugabe has been sworn in for a seventh term as Zimbabwe's Leader

Robert Mugabe has been sworn in for a seventh term in office as Zimbabwe's leader.

The BBC's Nomsa Maseko says the crowd at the ceremony "is erupting".

This will be President Mugabe's sixth term as Zimbabwe president and seventh term as leader as he was first elected as prime minister in 1980.

Thursday has been declared a public holiday to allow supporters of the 89-year-old to attend the inauguration.

The ceremony had been delayed by a court petition filed by his main rival, Morgan Tsvangirai, over allegations of widespread electoral fraud.

But the Constitutional Court dismissed the case, declaring Mr Mugabe's re-election "free, fair and credible".

Mr Mugabe won with 61% of the presidential vote against 34% for Mr Tsvangirai on 31 July.

The inauguration organisers have booked several international performing artists - from the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa and Jamaica.

However, the MDC and its leader, outgoing Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, will not be attending, bitter about what they say was a "stolen, and rigged election".

Simon Cowell Finally Opens Up About Becoming A Father

Simon Cowell

Reality show mogul Simon Cowell has finally come clean about becoming a father.

"I'm proud to be a dad," he told the BBC at the premiere of One Direction's documentary This Is Us. "It's something I hadn't thought of before, but now I know I feel good about it."

In late July, news broke that the longtime bachelor was expecting his first child with Lauren Silverman, the wife of his friend, Andrew Silverman. Days later, Cowell was accused of adultery when Andrew filed for divorce from Lauren after 10 years of marriage.

When Cowell appeared at the Television Critics Association's fall previews to promote the new season of The X Factor judge, he evaded questions about the shocking news. "I appreciate the question. Unfortunately, I have to keep this, for the moment, private. It's just one of those things," he said at the time.

When discussing impending fatherhood with the BBC on Tuesday, Cowell called Lauren "a very special girl."

Is Boko Haram's Shekau Really Dead?

When the news of the death of Sheikh Abubakar Shekau, leader of the Boko Haram sect, broke Monday, one of the questions on my lips as well as the lips of many Nigerians was ‘Are you sure he is dead?’...I was sceptical about the whole story...I'm still...

The doubt arose from claims and counter-claims regarding Shekau’s status and whereabouts in recent times as reports of cracks and division in the group came out. Early August, Shekau was reported to have been shot and deposed by members of the sect. A new leader, Abu Zamira Mohammed, who is the sect’s leader negotiating cease-fire agreement with the Federal Government, was appointed new leader by the group’s Shura Council.

A Security Consultant, Captain Umar Ali (Rtd) has disclosed the timeline used by the Joint Task Force (JTF) in concluding that the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, is killed. He has revealed this information at a Channels Television program. Confirming the possibility of the sect leader death, he still said that “there would be room of doubt” on the part of the people.

The JTF in Borno State, Operation Restore Order, reported that Abubakar Shekau might have died as a result of injuries sustained during a recent military onslaught on his group, but this hypothesis is yet do be tested. The verification process is the possible explanation for the time lag before the information was released, Captain Ali said.

He further explained that information is passed through the 'intelligence cycle' before it is released. Besides, the JTF used ‘social indicators’ to confirm their speculations.

“After the Sambisa attack, we saw a kind of withdrawal. We saw the terrorists’ attacks abating greatly. There was virtually a lull before Kano came up. And added to that, in camps that were raided, things were discovered that gave the impression that these people left here in a hurry. A lot of things were abandoned and they moved. Those they couldn’t go with, they burnt outrightly, themselves. So it’s possible that the leader was injured and they had to abandon ship. And they crossed over to Amitchide and tried to patch him up but he did not survive,” Captain explained the possible order of events.

Captain Ali also said the Borno mosque attack could have been retaliation for the loss.

He then said that the current situation poses opportunities for all the 'stakeholders' - the Boko Haram sect, law enforcement agencies and the government, and urged the government and security agencies to move from dynamic and military counter-terrorism strategies towards anti-terrorism ‘more democratic’ in nature. This process would involve awareness raising, information and the option of ‘judicial trial’ for captured terrorists.

Mr. Sagir Musa, the JTF spokesman on August 19, stated that Shekau has possibly “died of gunshot wound received in an encounter with the JTF troops in one of their camps at Sambisa Forest on 30 June 2013”.

Abubakar Shekau:

The $7 million bounty connection When the government of the United States of America, USA, through its Department of Justice Reward for Justice Programme, recently announced a $7 million bounty for the capture of Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, expectations were high that this could signal a quick end for the dreaded terrorist and his horde of followers, thus bringing to an to end the reign of terror which the extremist Islamist sect has unleashed on Nigeria and Nigerians.

Shekau was one of five individuals declared wanted by the US for spreading terrorism in West Africa. The belief is that most bounty hunters, including some members of the Boko Haram, will find the $7 million, which translates to about N1.12 billion, too irresistible to ignore and may go to any length to trace and expose Shekau’s hide-out. The amount was also expected to be tempting enough to all other criminal elements in Nigeria to stake everything they have got in search of the wanted Shekau.

The announcement, yesterday, credited to the military Joint Task Force, JTF, set up to flush out the Islamist terrorists in Northern Nigeria, that it has eventually located and killed the wily Shekau, is already being seen in some quarters as an indication that the bounty option or ploy has paid off. It may also come as a fitting and welcome climax to recent reports from JTF that it was winning the war against the terrorists and that it was only a matter of time before it would swoop on Shekau and his lieutenants.

Among the reports was Shekau narrow escape from arrest in Kano, when a joint security team stormed an apartment in the Naibawa Darnamawa area of the city, where he had for long been hiding. This was after one of his lieutenants was reported killed, while two other terrorists were apprehended by the JTF.

More remarkable was the reported killing of Shekau’s second in command, Momodu Bama, during an encounter between the Islamist sect and Nigerian troops. If true, the reported killing of Shekau will come as a welcome relief. to most Nigerians and indeed the international committee as he has been attributed as spreading a kind of terrorism similar to that of Osama Bin Laden, who was executed by US SEAL after years of manhunt.

The statement from JTF on the death of Shekau said: "Shekau was mortally wounded in the encounter and was sneaked into Amitchide, a border community in Cameroon for treatment from which he never recovered. It is believed that Shekau might have died between July 25 and August 3, 2013".

PHOTOS/ VIDEO: Meet the black Rapunzel...woman with the longest dreadlock in the world!

Asha Mandela, 50, has a lock on a world record that others might dread: The world's longest dreadlocks.

The 50-year-old Atlanta resident has earned the name "the Black Rapunzel" because she holds the Guinness World Record for "World's Longest Dreadlocks," which she has owned since 2008.

Her dreads were officially measured to be 19 feet, 6 inches long, but an unofficial measurement found one of the strands measured a whopping 55 feet, 7 inches.

Click below to watch video:

Mandela first started growing her lovely locks 25 years ago, after she moved from Trinidad-Tobago to New York and decided to have a more "natural" hairstyle.

“When I first started, it was more of a spiritual journey -- It wasn’t anything to do with a fad or style in fashion,” Mandela said according to the International Business Times. “After 25 years of growth, my hair has really become part of me and I feel that if I ever cut my hair I’d really be taking away my life.”

But greatness like this isn't easy: She washes the dreads once a week, using up to six bottles of shampoo at a time. Then it takes two days for the locks to dry -- and they weigh 25 pounds when wet.

She says the extra weight of her hair makes her doctors very concerned.

"The doctors seem to think I have a curvature of my spine and that it's the length and the weight of my hair that's making me curve," she said, according to the Mirror. "Some have said my neck has collapsed at the back and that I need to be careful because I could start having spasms in my spine and probably be paralyzed."

That problem is mitigated, she says, by the effect her locks have on the men in her life.

"My hair has never caused a problem with intimacy. I think it adds a little spice on top," she said.

A spokeswoman for Guinness World Records says the company retired the "World's Longest Dreadlocks" record in 2009, and will no longer be monitoring attempts at the feat.

"The reason for this is that it's impossible to measure the authenticity of the locks due to expert methods employed in the attachment of hair extensions or re-attachment of broken off dreadlocks," the spokeswoman told The Huffington Post. "Effectively, the dreadlock can become an extension and therefore impossible to adjudicate accurately."
