WARNING! Boots Cough and Cold medicines recalled over fears that PLASTIC might be in liquid

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) published the company-led recall for medicines purchased since September

Boots has recalled some of its cough and cold medicines - including for children - over fears that plastic might have got into the liquid.

Boots said it identified a possible fault in the manufacturing process of the tamper seal which might result in small pieces of plastic getting into the solutions.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) published the company-led recall for medicines purchased since September.

There is "currently no evidence" of any problems among people who have taken the medicines, MHRA said.

The medicines are:

Boots Pharmaceuticals Paracetamol 6 years Plus (250mg/5ml oral solution 200ml)

Boots Pharmaceuticals Ibuprofen 3 Months Plus (100mg/5ml oral suspension, strawberry flavour)

Boots Pharmaceuticals Chesty Cough Relief (100mg/5ml oral solution)

Boots Pharmaceuticals Dry Cough Relief oral solution

Boots Pharmaceuticals Mucus Cough Relief (100mg/5ml oral solution)

Shoppers are being asked to return the medicine to Boots as a precautionary measure, where they will get a refund.

Anyone with questions can telephone the Boots Customer Care Line on 0800 915 0004, or contact the healthcare team at their local Boots store.

Adam Burgess, MHRA's head of defective medicines reporting centre, said: "This is a precautionary recall by Boots and there is currently no evidence that people have had any problems with these cough and cold medicines.

"People should check their medicine cupboards at home and return these products to Boots if they have purchased them since September 2013. If people are worried or have any questions, they should speak to their pharmacist or GP."

Would you rock these 'invisible panties' that promise 'no more ugly shapes under your clothes'?

There are a number of underwear designs made to eliminate a visible panty line, but one in particular has been making the rounds online for its bizarre and unconventional look.

Made by a brand called Babapanty, Invisible Panties are essentially three strategically placed silicone straps connected with what look like white paper clips. Two of the straps go between the legs and cradle a square piece of cloth against the crotch.

The brand has launched a Kickstarter to fund the project, with a goal of raising $10,000. Unsurprisingly, however, it has only had five backers so far who've donated $110 altogether, most likely because of its odd and uncomfortable-looking design.

A description for the panties on Kickstarter.com says: 'Use them every day, be sexy and free, even when you're having "special women's" days!'

It also lists some of the benefits of these panties compared to normal underwear, including 'no seams', 'no rolling' and 'no more ugly looking shapes under your clothes'.

But while the website claims Invisible Panties are just as 'sexy' as a conventional thong and a prettier alternative to 'grandma's panties', most would beg to differ.

Cosmopolitan.com writer Laura Beck, for instance, deemed them 'a cross between a chastity belt, a maxipad, and some random office supplies.'....lol!

Sexy alternative? And while the website says the panties are ideal for hot weather, one can't help but wonder if the plastic straps would cause uncomfortable chafing and sweating

Indeed, it seems somewhat farfetched to shell out $9.95 for underwear that could probably be constructed at home.

And while the website says the panties are ideal for hot weather, one can't help but wonder if the plastic straps would cause uncomfortable chafing and sweating.

Oddly, the Kickstarter page emphasizes that Invisible Panties are apparently 'perfectly designed' for a woman's time of the month.

'Usual underwear cannot keep a pad not smashed for a long time, especially at night, that cause absolutely uncomfortable sleeping,' says the description.

By contrast, 'Baba invisible panties let you sleep however you like, you can roll over, twist and turn round all night long, a pad won't be smashed or damaged,' it says.

Would you rock these pants girls?

Italian girl, 14, 'gang-raped after classmate hijacked her Facebook profile to post that she was "available to anyone"'

  • The girl was raped in an empty outdoor theatre in the town of Molfetta
  • She was harrassed after classmate posted phone number on Facebook
  • Her schoolfriend was reportedly acting in revenge for a petty quarrel
  • Four men have been arrested in connection with the alleged assault
  • A fifth man, who was under 18 at the time, is also under investigation

A 14-year-old Italian girl was allegedly gang raped after a classmate hijacked her Facebook profile to post that she was ‘available to anyone’.

The teenager was dragged into an empty outdoor theatre in her hometown of Molfetta, near Bari, in the south east of the country, and raped repeatedly, after the gang of ten assumed that she was ‘easy’, prosecutors say.

The schoolgirl had trustingly left her Facebook page unlocked, allowing a school friend, reportedly acting in revenge for a petty quarrel, to paste pictures of her, along with her phone number.

Horrific: The teenager was dragged into an empty outdoor theatre in her hometown of Molfetta (pictured), near Bari, and raped repeatedly, after the gang of ten assumed that she was 'easy', prosecutors say

Afterwards the teen was immediately besieged by phone calls harassing her.

The alleged attack took place in April 2012 when the group, who she knew by sight, approached her and persuaded her to get on a scooter.

They took her to the theatre where she was brutally assaulted by four of the men, while the others kept watch, prosecutors say.

Deputy prosecutor Francesco Giannella called it ‘a sordid, tragic attack’.

He said: ‘It could be a random attack but some months ago somebody made a fake profile of the girl saying she was “very available”'.

He added: ‘Young people don’t understand the dangerous consequences of the misuse of certain tools such as social networks.’

The girl was too distraught to go to the police immediately but threw away her phone SIM card to put an end to the harassment.

She was then allegedly raped a second time by a boyfriend, which prompted her to report the alleged attacks.

Four men aged between 20 and 25 have been arrested and are detained under house arrest in connection with the alleged assault, while a fifth, who was under 18 at the time, is under investigation.

Earlier this year a 21-year-old man from Gloucester was jailed for four years for grooming and raping a 14-year-old girl after she put her number on Facebook.

And last year a 19-year-old from Manchester who police called 'every parent's worst nightmare' was ordered to spend six years in a young offenders institution for befriending and raping girls as young as 12 on the site.

NOLLYWOOD MARRIAGE SHOCKER!: Another Nollywood Actress’ Marriage Crashes Less Than A Year After Wedding

Yes! International magazine reveals that another Nollywood actress has been thrown back into the single life after less than one year of being married.

yes_iwuji

Actress Uche Iwuji’s marriage to businessman Juwon Lawal has reportedly crashed after about a year of being married.

According to the magazine, a source close to the actress reveals:
“Not just that, Uche is also back to hustling; looking for movie roles and all that”. Undone, the sources added that her husband has allegedly relocated abroad, abandoning Uche and their baby. “See, Uche na good girl, but love has been bad and unfair to her. Remember there was a guy she first co-habited with in Spain and at the end of the day nothing came out of it. And before that, she also dated footballer Joseph Yobo who later dumped her for ex-beauty queen, Adaeze Igwe. Then, Juwon, who she met in London or so. The truth is that I really feel for her!”
Sure sounds like a woman unlucky in love.

Actress Uchi Iwuji is yet to confirm these reports.
