Nollywood Actor Muna Obiekwe's death confirmed by Actors Guild of Nigeria
Unfortunately the rumours are true. Muna Obiekwe is actually dead. He died on Sunday after being rushed to a hospital in Festac Lagos following a kidney related illness. Many of his acting colleagues took to the social media to express shock over the untimely death of the talented actor.
President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima, confirmed his death in a statement.
The deceased had been in the movie industry for over a decade, featuring in over 100 movies before his death.
Meanwhile popular Yoruba movie producer and actress, Dayo Amusa has accused Nollywood colleagues over alleged neglect of Muna Obiekwe's deteriorating state of health before his demise.
She said via Instagram,'Yes, Muna might have wanted or lived a private life but people knew he was sick,people knew his health condition and yet what did they do,some tried but if they had cried out to the world MUNA might have gotten help. We are just colleagues NO REAL FRIENDS! Rest In Peace MUNA.'
Coronation Street's Deirdre Barlow dies@60
Coronation Street star Anne Kirkbride, who has played Deirdre Barlow since 1972, has died aged 60 after a brief illness.
ITV confirmed the sad news in a statement on Monday, saying: 'It is with great sadness that David Beckett has confirmed tonight that his beloved wife and Coronation Street actress Anne Kirkbride has passed away peacefully in a Manchester hospital after a short illness.
'David and the programme's cast and crew are heartbroken and deeply saddened at the loss of Anne who has been a Coronation Street icon for 44 years.'
