Cheryl Cole congratulates newlywed Cher Lloyd on her secret wedding to Craig Monk

Cheryl Cole appeared to extend an olive branch to Cher Lloyd on Wednesday by congratulating the young singer on her surprise marriage to hairdresser Craig Monk.

The precocious 20-year-old broke the news on Instagram, where she is followed by 1,536,472 fans, by posting a black and white shot taken shorty after they exchanged vows.

Dressed in a stunning off the shoulder gown, Cher clutches a small bouquet of white roses as she stands side by side with hairdresser Craig, who originally proposed in 2011.

I do: Cher Lloyd posted this intimate wedding snap on her Instagram account on Wednesday

Mentor: Former X Factor judge Cheryl picked Cher as one of her final three alongside Rebecca Ferguson and Katie Waissel in 2010

As the messages flooded in from well-meaning fans, Cheryl quickly reached out to her X Factor protégé.

‘'Wow!! Heard your good news. Congratulations @CherLloyd I hope you have many more happy years and memories to come. Cheryl x,’ she tweeted.

The message got an immediate reply from Cher, who responded with: ‘Thank you so much!!!!’

Their interaction on Wednesday evening draws a line under the ugly spat that reached boiling point earlier this year, when the Swagger Jagger star commented that her former mentor could only sing with the aid of auto-tune.

'She's new. She needs to learn a lot,’ Cheryl later told GQ. ‘I went through hell to get her on that programme.

‘Everyone says stuff at the beginning of their career that they will learn to regret.'

Happy couple: The pair have made numerous public appearances sine announcing their engagement in 2011

The unimpressed singer also tweeted: 'Be careful who you kick on your way up. They kick you twice as hard on your way back down.. #unappreciationisugly.'

A caption next to her recent Instagram shot, dated 18/11/2013 ❤️, implied that the wedding took place on Monday - although additional details surrounding the event have been withheld.

'Cher and Craig are married but all other details are private,'a spokesperson told MailOnline.

The hairdresser, 23, looked handsome in a suit and tie with a single rose on the lapel, while a clearly delighted Cher beamed.

In April 2012, she told the Daily Mirror: 'I'm engaged and want to get married as soon as possible. I can't wait.

'I love Craig and he makes me happy. I know I am going to spend the rest of my life with him.'

Happy couple: Cher and her hairdresser boyfriend seemingly tied the knot in a secret ceremony on Monday

When asked about her choice to get engaged at such a young age, the star said: 'People are negative no matter what you do. People are always going to say, "She's too young!"

'I'm from a Gypsy background! I'm meant to be married by now. But I’m happy, really happy. I love him to pieces, more than anything in the world, but I don’t want people to take that away from me.

'I know I’ve got my whole life ahead of me, but why not get hitched now?'

The pair met in April 2011 when Craig fitted her hair extensions at the Four salon in Mayfair.

The singer shot to fame on The X Factor after she was mentored by Cheryl Cole, reaching fourth during the live shows.

She was snapped up by Simon Cowell's record label Syco straight after the competition and scored a debut number one with first single Swagger Jagger.

VIDEO: Mike Tyson 'returns Evander Holyfield's ear' 16 years after......in crazy Footlocker commercial

It is considered one of the most famous sports scandals of all time, but is seems Mike Tyson has finally made full amends with Evander Holyfield – at least on screen.

The imaginary scenario is played out in a Footlocker commercial which sees Mike hand back Holyfield’s missing piece, explaining he ‘kept that in formaldehyde’.

Mike Tyson was disqualified after the 1997 incident when he bit off the top of his opponent’s ear during their heavyweight boxing champion fight.

Making amends: The Footlocker commercial sees Mike Tyson return Evander Holyfield's ear with a remorseful look on his face

The commercial sees basketball player Kyrie Irving imagining that ‘all is right with the world’, going into a daydream featuring the legendary boxers.

The dream shows Mike Tyson turning up at Evander Holyfield’s door, presenting him with a small box.

‘I’m sorry, Evander,’ Tyson says. ‘It’s your ear.

‘I kept that in formaldehyde.’

Keepsake: Mike Tyson apologies and explains that he has kept Evander Holyfield's ear in formaldehyde all these years

Back where it belongs: Evander reaches out to take the 'ear' which has been missing since the 1997 match

Since reuniting on the Oprah Winfrey show in 2009, 12 years after the ear-biting fight, the pair have rekindled their 90s friendship.

Last year they famously exchanged quips about the incident on Twitter as Holyfield began promoting his Real Deal BBQ Sauce.

Holyfield posted: ‘My realdealbbqsauce.com will make you take a bite out of someone's ear! Ask Mike Tyson – Luv ya bro!’

Reunited: Evander seems moved by Mike's gesture

Friends again: The former foes embrace, putting all their differences behind them at last

In support of his buddy, Tyson responded: Holyfield's ear would've been much better with his new BBQ sauce.’

When the two heavyweights met earlier this year at a promotional event for Holyfield’s barbeque sauce Tyson said‘I just wanted to see Evander, man. I love Evander. I'm forever linked with him for the rest of my life.’

The Footlocker commercial also features staff and travellers in an airport cheering as Dennis Rodman books a one-way ticket to North Korea.

No fewer than 200 Nigerian girls trafficked every month to Russia for prostitution

Berlin – No fewer than 200 Nigerian girls are trafficked every month to Russia for prostitution, the nation’s ambassador to that country, Amb. Asam Asam has said.

Asam, who spoke against the backdrop of consular challenges faced by the embassy, disclosed this in an interview in Berlin.
Investigations reveal that the crime had declined in Western Europe following strict laws on illegal migration, and joint efforts by Nigeria and the governments of those countries to curb the menace.
However, attention has shifted to Eastern Europe as the new destination for the trade.“The major consular challenge we face in Moscow is the influx of trafficked persons from Nigeria, not less than 200 girls are trafficked every month, and we have so many of them exposed to danger.
“Some are thrown out of the window and treated harshly, there must be a way of stopping these racketeering , these girls are not tourists, students or government officials yet they are given visas from the Russian embassy in Abuja”,“So far we have deported over 240 girls since 2012, you will be shocked, at the extend of resistance from the girls, we tell them Russia is not a destination for prostitutes yet they still come” Asam said.
According to him, the mission tries to curb the menace by arranging deportation exercise for those caught, but the challenges are enormous. The envoy said such intervention would be more effective at the point of entry “the strategy is to stop them from Nigeria, and fish out those involved in the trade.
“For instance a well known Russian human trafficker who has been in the trade for about 20 years was caught in Nigeria,’’“The National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons( NAPTIP) was on the verge of releasing her before I filed a protest from Moscow to the Comptroller General of Immigration,” Asama stressed.
He said even the parents of those trafficked encourage their children “I spoke to the mother of one of the girls and she said her daughter should remain in Moscow and try to survive the ordeal, this is very sad indeed coming from one’s parent.’’
He tasked the media on sensitising the public on the dangers of trafficking in Russia,“this East European nation has become a new destination for them, and believe me it is a very big crime here.’’
Asam, however, said that other Nigerians who reside in that country were students, and professionals in various fields of human endeavours. (NAN)

VIDEO: Eddie Murphy & Arsenio Hall Explain Why There Was Never A Sequel to ‘Coming to America’

eddie-murphy-arsenio-hall

Why was there never a Coming to America sequel? Well, the complicated answer involves lawsuits and angry African royalty.

Eddie Murphy, who played Prince Akeem in the 1988 classic, sat down for an interview with Arsenio Hall on his self-tiled talk show this week. Along with gushing about the movie’s 25th anniversary, Murphy explained why fans may never see a much-talked-about remake.

“When Coming to America came out it was a bunch of lawsuits,” the comedian shared about one of the greatest Black comedy films of all time.

“There was some dude who was claiming he was the prince,” he said. “I be out in the club and this African dude would roll up on me and say, ‘I am the real prince! You stole my life from me! And I want my money! I’ll kill you!”

Murphy said this happened on a regular basis. “I actually had depositions where I had to sit across the table from this dude,” he added. “It was so many lawsuits so we were like ehhhh.”
Due to all the chaos, the cast cast and crew decided to keep that chapter closed.

Check out the VIDEO clip below and tell us if you would be interested in a Coming to America 2 after all these years. The Best Man made a success comeback after 15 years. If they got the green light, do you think Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall could bring back the same magic on screen?

Twenty two Nigerians died during this year’s holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia- NAN

Twenty two Nigerians died during this year’s holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
The head of Information, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Alhaji Uba Mana, said this on Tuesday in a telephone interview with Punch correspondent.
Mana, who did not give the state-by-state breakdown of the figure, said majority of the victims died of natural causes, and had been buried in Saudi Arabia in accordance with Islamic rites.
He said the death toll was lower than that of the previous years, due to adequate medical arrangement provided by the commission.
Mana also attributed the low casualty rate to the awareness created by the commission on personal hygiene and the performance of a stress-free hajj.
NAN reports that 44 pilgrims died in 2011 and 36 pilgrims in 2012 out of the over 95,000 pilgrims who performed the hajj in each of the years.
Speaking on the transportation of pilgrims back home, Mana said the commission was able to complete the exercise four days ahead of the Nov. 19 deadline given to it by the Saudi Arabia authorities.
