How to Lose Baby Weight with Atkins Diet......Just like Kim K.

Kim Kardashian tweeted she was on the Atkins diet on October 13.

She is crediting the Atkins diet, a low-carb lifestyle plan, as her saving grace:

“Fifteen years ago, I tried the Atkins diet with my dad and we both lost weight really quickly. And I’m still doing it. I still have my cheat days, but when you’re breastfeeding you can’t really starve yourself.”

Even though Kim looks amazing, she admits she isn’t done yet!

Kim Kardashian Atkins Diet

“I still have some [baby weight] to go. Atkins worked for me and I don’t feel tempted to eat a bunch of junk food. It’s just about staying healthy — it will come off.”

Bringing your new baby home could very well be one of the most joyous and memorable occasions in your life. As you get into the routine of diaper changing, feeding and sleeping (hopefully!), it’s natural for you to start thinking about losing weight. But it’s important to remember that your body has just been through a lot; giving birth is no small feat, and your body needs time to rest, recover and replenish before you put undue pressure on yourself to get back into your favorite pair of pre-pregnancy jeans. First and foremost, you need to listen to your doctor and his or her recommendations for when you can start exercising and any other important guidelines.

Here are some other important tips for how to lose baby weight, with the help of Atkins:
Set realistic weight loss goals:

You typically lose up to10 pounds during childbirth, and you will lose additional weight in coming weeks as you shed additional retained fluids. While the fat you stored during pregnancy won’t disappear on its own right away, it’s also important to lose it in the right way. Focus on losing 1 to 2 pounds a week until you hit your target weight, but keep in mind that depending on how much weight you have to lose, it may take six months or even longer to return to your pregnancy weight, whether you’re breast-feeding or not.

Getting started:
  • Give yourself some time to ease back into weight loss. There’s never a right time to do a crash diet, but now would be the absolute worst time! You want to lose the baby weight slowly and steadily, without putting any undue stress on yourself or your body. Generally, you could start eating around 50 grams of net carbs a day.
  • As with all phases of Atkins, build your eating program around protein, including meat, poultry and seafood, eggs and healthy natural fats such as olive and flaxseed oil, nuts/seeds and their butters, and avocados.
  • Eat plenty of vegetables and one serving of fruit such as strawberries, blueberries or grapefruit daily.
  • Read ingredient labels and AVOID hydrogenated oils.
  • Cook meat well but don't burn it—heavily charred meats can be unhealthy.
  • Be sure to drink plenty of water. Shoot for 8 (eight-ounce) glasses of water a day, possibly more if you are breastfeeding.
  • Eat small, frequent meals with healthy snacks in between to keep your hunger in check and your energy level high. If you are breastfeeding, you may feel extra hungry because your body is working around the clock to make breast milk for your baby; the frequent meals and snacks will help you keep you satisfied.
  • Focus on your body’s hunger cues vs. eating a specific number of calories, and watch your portion sizes.
  • Once you have the go-ahead from your doctor to exercise, try to walk 30 minutes a day at a comfortable pace. If you already had an exercise routine prior to pregnancy and/or during pregnancy, now’s the time to slowly ease back into it.
If you’re breastfeeding:

You may need to add up to an extra 500 calories a day (for a total daily calorie intake of 2,000 to 2,200 calories) while breastfeeding, but you can safely drop to 1,800 calories a day once your baby is two months old. Remember that you are using your own calories to feed your baby, and cutting calories too early or drastically may interfere with milk production.

When it comes to Atkins, we advise breastfeeding mothers to avoid Phase 1. You should be able to lose weight gradually while breastfeeding by keeping your daily carb consumption around 50 grams of net carbs or above. Nursing a baby requires a reasonable amount of calories, so you should see a gradual weight loss. The issue is that too rapid a weight loss, combined with the concomitant release of toxins stored in fat cells, might also be transmitted into breast milk. Until you wean your child, losing only 1 to 2 pounds a week should be your goal.

If you start losing more than 1 to 2 pounds per week while breastfeeding, you may need to add an extra snack and/or increase your net carbs to slow weight loss down—the vitamins and minerals from the food you eat will get pumped into your breast milk, and the calories for your breast milk are mostly coming from your body reserves (which includes the weight you gained during pregnancy).
A typical day’s menu would look like this:
Breakfast: 2-egg omelet and 1 ounce cheese
Snack: ½ cup berries and 2 ounces nuts
Lunch: Grilled chicken with 2 tablespoons peanut sauce and a large salad
Snack: Greek yogurt and half a pear
Dinner: Lamb kebabs, half a baked sweet potato and 2 cups mixed salad with 1 ounce blue or feta cheese and Greek vinaigrette dressing.

PHOTO/ VIDEO: Kim Kardashian’s Engagement Ring From Kanye West.....Check out the ROCK!

 Kim Kardashian Engagement Ring

WATCH VIDEO BELOW:

33-year-old reality star, Kim Kardashian, is officially engaged — and her flawless diamond ring definitely cost more than her last ring from Kris Humphries.

Although her engagement ring from Kris Humphries was auctioned off on Oct. 15, Kim already has a new sparkler on her left ring finger — and it’s a stunning engagement ring from boyfriend Kanye West!
Kanye rented out San Francisco’s AT&T Park and popped the question on Kim’s birthday, Oct. 21, in front of the couple’s closest family and friends — and he gave her a gigantic flawless diamond to celebrate the special occasion!

Kanye got down on one knee and proposed to Kim with a flawless15-carat diamond, emerald-cut ring by celebrity jeweler, Lorraine Schwartz....and Kim looks like she couldn’t be happier.

According to 78 Universal Jewelers in NYC: “This ring is definitely worth more than the ring Kris Humphries gave her.” Inanelli Diamonds said it also cost millions of dollars! “The retail price of this ring has to be a couple of million, around six or seven to be exact. Location is key in purchasing a ring of this caliber. If someone came into a NYC jewelry store to purchase a ring of this caliber they would shell out around $3,000,000 but in Beverly Hills, this ring is at least $6,000,000 — and a man of Kanye’s status can shell out this amount easily.”

Kerry Washington is Neutrogena's new ambassador and creative consultant!

Kerry Washington Neutrogena

Kerry Washington is Neutrogena's new celebrity ambassador and creative consultant.

The American actress is the latest star to team up with the Johnson & Johnson company and will feature in their print and television advertisements.

In her new role, the actress will be co-creating marketing initiatives, giving product feedback, and yes, showing off her gorgeous skin in ads. “The position is new for me and for them. It’s a way to be authentically involved in a real partnership with the company,” she says.

It’s a natural fit for the actress who already has a go-to within the brand (Makeup Remover Wipes: ”I will not go to bed with makeup on so it’s great to have a product that will get it off without leaving my skin too oily or dry”) and who loves to talk “beauty stuff” with her Twitter followers. “Now I can be on an adventure with my fans where I’ll be able to hear feedback on the products,” she says. “I live and work in makeup so I have a perspective on how a lip color works after eight hours on the set or an hour on the red carpet.”

The 36-year-old actress will join other Neutrogena ambassadors including Emma Roberts, Kristen Bell, Jennifer Garner and Hayden Panettiere.

Her ads, which will be made public in early 2014, will help Neutrogena launch their new Visibly Even BB creams and boost other core products.

When asked what her favourite products of the brand are Kerry named the Healthy Volume Mascara and Make-up Remover Wipes.

"I'm obsessed with them," she gushed. "But in terms of getting to discover and play with the full product line, I get to do that with my fan base. It's a much more real connection."

The anti-ageing secret from Africa: Marula oil, packed with all-natural vitamin C and antioxidants

  • Been used by the Ovambo women in northern Namibia for generations
  • Famed for its skin smoothing and moisturising properties
  • High levels of anti-oxidants help maintain youthful looking skin
BENEFITS OF MARULA OIL
  • Contains four times as much Vitamin C as oranges
  • Packed with omega 9, fatty acid and vitamin E
  • Great for body and hair
  • Can alleviate snake bite pain

From vampire facelifts to snake venom serum, it seems there's a new miracle ingredient launched every week

The latest buzzword in the beauty world is an all-natural skin smoothing secret that African women have kept secret for years - until now.

Marula oil has traditionally been used by the Ovambo women in northern Namibia for generations because of its skin smoothing and moisturising properties - and now it's hitting the mainstream.

Beauty buzz: Marula oil, which is hand harvested by the women of Nairobi, is hotly tipped to be the next big thing in skincare thanks to its anti-ageing properties (R) African Botanics Pure Marula Oil, Space NK, £60

Marula oil is hand harvested by women in the villages of Southern Africa, who use it for its medicinal benefits, in particular protecting the skin and hair from the harsh, dry weather conditions.

The oil is extracted from the plum-like fruit of a marula tree, which is widely regarded as the spiritual centre in villages.

Whilst a number of different products are made from the fruit, it’s the oil that has given the tree its special status.

The oil, which is extracted from kernels in its stones, contains four times as much Vitamin C as oranges and is packed with omega-9 fatty acid, vitamin E and flavonoids.

These essential fatty acids and powerful antioxidants, particularly the high levels of oleic acid, help maintain the skin’s moisture barrier, provide long-lasting hydration and protect against environmental aggressors.

Next big thing: Marula oil claims to be a multifunctional anti-ageing ingredient that hydrates, protects, and rejuvenates the skin (L) Melvita Bio-Excellence Moisturising Serum, £32 (R) Body Shop Cocoa Butter Beautifying Oil, £9, which both contain the oil

The high levels of antioxidants help maintain youthful looking skin, making the product ideal for dull,
under-nourished skin and frequent travellers.

'Marula oil is a multifunctional anti-ageing premium facial oil that hydrates, protects, and rejuvenates the skin.

'In the day it provides protection from UV damage, environment (pollution, exposure), and fatigue, whilst in the night the antioxidants are at their most active in healing and repairing skin while we sleep,' said Julia Noik, a spokesperson for African Botanics, who sell marula oil-based products.

Shona Wilkinson, head Nutritionist at The Nutri Centre, added: 'Marula oil has been used by women in Africa for many years.

'The key to this oil is that it is high in antioxidants and oleic acid. Because of the high levels of oleic acid (Omega 9) it is absorbed really easily and quickly. This will help provide longer lasting hydration.

'It is often used either on its own or added to creams to provide hydration for the prevention of fine lines'.

The benefits of marula oil don’t just relate to skin and The Body Shop have joined forces with The Eudafano Women's Cooperative to help change the lives of the women who collect it.

‘The Eudafano Women’s Cooperative provides income for 1,750 women in a very marginalised area of Namibia where there are no other forms of income-earning opportunities,’ Rosie Collins, a Community Fair Trade senior buyer at The Body Shop, told The Metro.

‘Women also learn how to manage their finances, the nutritional health of their children improves and they develop an entrepreneurial attitude through selling marula juice locally and marketing Eudafano’s marula oil internationally.’
