Wearing a bra will NOT cause breast cancer...contrary to previous studies

Wearing a bra does not increase the risk of breast cancer, according to new research contrary to previous theory that claims an association between breast cancer and bra wearing patterns

Also a 2005 book entitled 'Dressed To Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer And Bras' struck fear into the hearts of bra wearers and lingerie manufacturers.

It supported the idea bras cause poisons to accumulate in breast tissue.

That prompted a team from the University of Washington to study 1,513 women in the area, aged between 55 to 74.

No evidence of a link between breast cancer risk and bra size, type, or frequency of wearing, was found, researchers said.

Doctoral student Lu Chen, who led the research, said: 'There have been some concerns one of the reasons why breast cancer may be more common in developed countries compared with developing countries is differences in bra wearing patterns.

'Given how common bra wearing is, we thought this was an important question to address.

'Our study found no evidence wearing a bra increases a woman’s risk for breast cancer.

'The risk was similar no matter how many hours per day women wore a bra, whether they wore a bra with an underwire, or at what age they first began wearing a bra.'

#The research was published in the journal of Cancer, Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention.

Man invents toilet seat that instantly eliminates embarrassing odours before they spread

A new invention called Fresh Air Plus, an odour-eliminating toilet seat claims to eliminate unsavoury odours by pumping them outside.

When a person sits on it a sensor triggers a fan inside the bowl, which filters any unpleasant odours away.

The odours are taken through a hose away from the toilet and outside the house.

To power the fan the seat needs to be plugged into a wall socket.

An inventor in Tennessee has revealed his odour-eliminating toilet seat. Called Fresh Air Plus (shown) the device has a built-in fan to get rid of bad smells. When a person sits on it a sensor triggers a fan inside the bowl, which filters any unpleasant odours away
The fan is triggered when a person sits down (shown). The odours are taken through a hose away from the toilet and outside the house. One issue for potential owners, though, might be that a ventilation hole needs to be drilled in the side of the house to feed the hose outside

he detachable seat is easily installed in place of existing seats. They claim it gets rid of smells better than other fans, sprays or candles. This can make using the bathroom more pleasant for the next person to walk in. It is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter to launch in March 2015
