BREAKING NEWS: Nigerian President Jonathan Falls Sick....Currently receiving treatment in London

Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan has fallen ill in London and could not attend the meeting of Nigeria’s Honorary International Investors’ Council, which started today.
President Jonathan who clocked 56 years yesterday “became indisposed and could not be present at the opening of the meeting today”, a statement by Reuben Abati said today.
According to Abati, President Jonathan “has since been examined by competent medical practitioners. He has been advised to rest for a few days.”

“The Presidency wishes to assure all Nigerians that President Jonathan’s condition is nothing serious and that the medical attention he has sought is only precautionary”, the statement added.
Abati did not reveal the cause of the sudden illness.

Berlin – No fewer than 200 Nigerian girls are trafficked every month to Russia for prostitution, the nation’s ambassador to that country, Amb. Asam Asam has said.

Asam, who spoke against the backdrop of consular challenges faced by the embassy, disclosed this in an interview in Berlin.
Investigations reveal that the crime had declined in Western Europe following strict laws on illegal migration, and joint efforts by Nigeria and the governments of those countries to curb the menace.
However, attention has shifted to Eastern Europe as the new destination for the trade.“The major consular challenge we face in Moscow is the influx of trafficked persons from Nigeria, not less than 200 girls are trafficked every month, and we have so many of them exposed to danger.
“Some are thrown out of the window and treated harshly, there must be a way of stopping these racketeering , these girls are not tourists, students or government officials yet they are given visas from the Russian embassy in Abuja”,“So far we have deported over 240 girls since 2012, you will be shocked, at the extend of resistance from the girls, we tell them Russia is not a destination for prostitutes yet they still come” Asam said.
According to him, the mission tries to curb the menace by arranging deportation exercise for those caught, but the challenges are enormous.The envoy said such intervention would be more effective at the point of entry “the strategy is to stop them from Nigeria, and fish out those involved in the trade.
“For instance a well known Russian human trafficker who has been in the trade for about 20 years was caught in Nigeria,’’“The National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons( NAPTIP) was on the verge of releasing her before I filed a protest from Moscow to the Comptroller General of Immigration,” Asama stressed.
He said even the parents of those trafficked encourage their children “I spoke to the mother of one of the girls and she said her daughter should remain in Moscow and try to survive the ordeal, this is very sad indeed coming from one’s parent.’’
He tasked the media on sensitising the public on the dangers of trafficking in Russia,“this East European nation has become a new destination for them, and believe me it is a very big crime here.’’
Asam, however, said that other Nigerians who reside in that country were students, and professionals in various fields of human endeavours. (NAN)

“When Coming to America came out it was a bunch of lawsuits,” the comedian shared about one of the greatest Black comedy films of all time.

“There was some dude who was claiming he was the prince,” he said. “I be out in the club and this African dude would roll up on me and say, ‘I am the real prince! You stole my life from me! And I want my money! I’ll kill you!”

Murphy said this happened on a regular basis. “I actually had depositions where I had to sit across the table from this dude,” he added. “It was so many lawsuits so we were like ehhhh.”
Due to all the chaos, the cast cast and crew decided to keep that chapter closed.

Twenty two Nigerians died during this year’s holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia- NAN

Twenty two Nigerians died during this year’s holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

The head of Information, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Alhaji Uba Mana, said this on Tuesday in a telephone interview with Punch correspondent.

Mana, who did not give the state-by-state breakdown of the figure, said majority of the victims died of natural causes, and had been buried in Saudi Arabia in accordance with Islamic rites.

He said the death toll was lower than that of the previous years, due to adequate medical arrangement provided by the commission.

Mana also attributed the low casualty rate to the awareness created by the commission on personal hygiene and the performance of a stress-free hajj.

NAN reports that 44 pilgrims died in 2011 and 36 pilgrims in 2012 out of the over 95,000 pilgrims who performed the hajj in each of the years.

Speaking on the transportation of pilgrims back home, Mana said the commission was able to complete the exercise four days ahead of the Nov. 19 deadline given to it by the Saudi Arabia authorities.

‘RHOA’ Star NeNe Leakes Hospitalized, Recovering From Blood Clots

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” takes-no-mess diva, NeNe Leakes (pictured) has been hospitalized after suffering from blood clots in her lung, according to a statement published on her official website and Twitter account.

“Late last week I wasn’t feeling well and was feeling a little short of breath,” the statement reads. “I know my body and I know when I should be concerned so I went to the hospital to get checked out. After some routine tests I was diagnosed with blood clots in my lung. I’m told this happened to me because of the constant traveling around the country that I do for my job”

The “I Dream of NeNe,” star tweeted a photo of herself, sans a headshot, with intravenous feeds in her arms and dressed in a typical hospital gown, covered up to her waist with a white blanket.



On Sunday evening, after her RHOA show had aired, Leakes tweeted to her fans that she had not been feeling well for a couple of days but, in true form, wanted to thank her 1.3 million loyal followers for watching the reality series.

Just one day after Leakes had reported that she felt out of sorts, she tweeted the following brow-raising notice:

Up until this point, Leakes has worked unceasingly as a RHOA cast member and on her own reality spinoff as well. She also co-starred in the now defunct comedy series, “The New Normal.” Leakes also has a recurrent role on the TV hit, “Glee.”

Since both “Glee” and “The New Normal” were located in Hollywood, Leakes has had to travel back-and-forth from her home in Atlanta to California which can be taxing on the body. She also has to juggle her career and family life, as she has a teenage child to raise.

But it seems like the Reality TV Diva is getting healthy and had this to say to her fans:

I’m thankful to be alive as the doctor advised me that most people don’t recognize the symptoms of blood clots and don’t go to the doctor and that’s when the big problems start happening.

Contrary to published reports I did not have a heart attack.

I am fortunate to have had a wonderful experience with the doctors and nurses who took care of me.

I’m blessed to be home with my wonderful Husband and family! Look who crawled in the hospital bed with me ….

The top 10 worst ingredients in cigarettes were identified in a list submitted to the United States Department of Health and Human Services during 1994.

The list of additives in cigarettes was compiled using information submitted by five major tobacco corporations: R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, Philip Morris, Liggett Group, Brown and Williamson and the American Tobacco Company.

The list includes 599 additives and since burning alters the chemical compositions, more than 4 thousand are created when cigarette is burned, impacting onyou and those around you. 

Among the most hazardous ingredients in cigarettes are the following:

1. Nicotine – one of the most important ingredient in cigarettes

Nicotine is an addictive psychoactive alkaloid. It is the primary compound in a cigarette. Since it is a stimulant, it increases blood pressure and constricts veins and arteries. It prompts the body to release cholesterol and fat into the blood stream, and may lead to the development of blood clots.

2. Benzene

This is a carcinogen substance. It increases the possibility of developing leukemia  In addition, it damages the central nervous system and can lead to a variety of health problems. Among them are paralysis, convulsions, tremors, dizziness, coma, sleepiness, tightness in the chest, anemia and bone marrow damage.

3. Formaldehyde

Formaldehyde is colorless  odorless  and taste-less. This gas is used to preserve dead bodies. When a cigarette is burned, formaldehyde is synthesized. It is responsible for eye, nose, and throat irritations. It can also cause nausea, wheezing, skin irritations and nasal cancer.

4. Arsenic

This is one of the toxic chemicals commonly used in rat poisons. Pesticides that are commonly used on tobacco farms leech arsenic into the plants. Potential health effects include cancer of the kidneys, liver, bladder, skin and lungs.

5. Cadmium

Cadmium is a poisonous heavy metal which is present in cigarette smoke. People who smoke have twice the levels of cadmium in their bodies as compared to non-smokers. Health risks include nausea, vomiting, renal failure, shock, convulsions, muscle cramps and sensory disruptions.

6. Ammonia

Ammonia is a toxic ingredient found in fertilizers and cleaning products. It is incorporated into cigarettes in order to enhance the effects of nicotine. Its potential effects on health include damage to the lungs as well as death.

7. Hydrogen cyanide

Which is a toxic compound used during the manufacture of paper, plastic, and textiles. This poisonous chemical was used by the Nazi soldiers in the deadly gas chambers during World War II. Potential health risks include headaches, weakness, dizziness, seizures, irregular heartbeats, fainting, vomiting and death.

8. Carbon monoxide

Carbon monoxide is a lethal compound which is present in car exhaust. Very high concentrations are contained in cigarettes. Among its health hazards are chest pain, dizziness, confusion, vomiting, nausea, disorientation, loss of consciousness and death.

9. TSNA

This is a compound composed of four carcinogenic chemicals. Its hazards to health include cancer of the mouth, pancreas, lungs, esophagus and liver.

10. Polonium and lead

These 2 ingredients are among the radioactive chemicals in cigarette smoke. These toxic metals stick to cigarette tar and cause radioactive hot-spots to develop in the lungs. Ultimately, it can cause lung cancer.

On Sunday, November 17, 2013, Lagos stood still for Psquare‘s Peter Okoye and fiancée Lola Omotayo as the couple held their traditional wedding ceremony, surprisingly elder brother Jude Okoye was missing.

Social network has been buzzing. The twins’ publicist Bayo Adetu said Jude was missing at the wedding because he was stuck in Ghana. Psquare had performed in Accra, Ghana at the ‘Glo and Bounce Slide‘ tour the night before. Adetu says Jude missed his flight and couldn’t get back to Lagos in time for the nuptials.

But a source who was part of another artiste’s entourage to Ghana for the concert says Jude Okoye did NOT travel to Ghana. ‘We didn’t see him, the twins were here with their band but we didn’t see Jude‘, a source said.

There are few instances pointing to the fact that Jude did not travel with his Pop star twin brothers to Ghana for the concert: Jude, a regular user of photo sharing Instagram never fails to post photos of their trip outside Nigeria – there were no photos of him aboard the airplane heading to GH, photos of the twins performing at the concert.

One source asks: ‘If he was truly stuck in Ghana, wouldn’t he have even lamented on Twitter like D’banj?‘.

Instead Jude posted a photo of himself and Wizkid in the studio. The picture is believed to have been taken a night before at the Mavin Records studio where he had been working with Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Phyno and others.

Inside sources in the Okoye family revealed that Jude Okoye and a few other family members did not support their brother’s marriage to his baby mama Lola Omotayo. Some sources also also claim their late mother never supported the relationship too.

‘Jude and some others don’t like her. They never gave their blessing for the marriage. Paul too, but he is his twin. Other family members who were there were reluctant to attend. Jude didn’t go because he never supported the idea from day one‘, a family source tells us.

Some of the Okoye family members have even gone as far as insinuating that Lola Omotayo has allegedly constantly cheated on Peter Okoye. It was gathered there have been demands for a DNA test to really ascertain whether his children Cameron and Aliona are truly his. ‘It’s that serious, they claim Lola sleeps around with her so called ‘uncles’, they want a DNA test done, they just want to protect their brother'.

This allegations have not been confirmed, and Adetu insists there are no issues, that Jude was only MIA because he was stuck in Ghana. One of the couple’s friends also told us all these are ‘wicked rumours’. ‘Wicked, false rumours. Nothing can be more false and distasteful. They should leave them alone and let them have peace…’

Lola currently lives in a mansion in Park View estate, Ikoyi. The Okoyes are currently building their new home somewhere not to far from there. It is uncertain where the couple will make their home.

Jude Okoye has been working with Psquare, his younger brothers since they released their first album ‘Last Nite‘ under Timbuk2 Music label back in 2003.

The decoration has been contracted to ‘Newton and David’ owned by veteran decorator Uche Majekodunmi.

The couple will be serenaded by veteran musician King Sunny Ade and a handful of other top Nigerian artistes.

Sources close to Tiwa also said she has been having a hard time penning down the guest list. With the help of her friend, budding make-up artiste Joyce Jacob, the pair (with some input from the hubby-to-be) spent hours crafting the list which mainly comprises of top entertainment buffs, industry executives and business partners.

Zimbabwe - A 40-year-old man from Nherera in Mhondoro suddenly grew breasts after he allegedly stole and sold some cattles.

The Villagers believe the man identified as Acry Chinhivi Shayamano has been punished by the cattle owner.

50-year-old Hamilton Magaisa said, "We all know that Acry grew boobs because of his thieving. People who steal are punished in so many ways. I have no sympathy for him."



Shayamano did admit that he was a thief but denied ever stealing a cattle.

"Who told you that I have grown boobs. Mine are not that bad. I never stole anyone's cattle.

"I steal but not cattle. I stole some DVDs and I was arrested and ordered to pay a fine," he said.

He said his grandmother lost two cows in February and that was the time he noticed his boobs growing. He said people just made a connection, which was not the case.



Acry said his boobs were not painful but were still growing. He said the boobs could be a side effect of the ARVs he was taking. He has been taking them for the past three years.

But some villagers are convinced that Acry is paying for his crime.

'R.I.P.' Singer, Rita Ora COLLAPSES During Photo Shoot...

2:01 PM PT  Ora's doctor, David Farcy, tells TMZ Rita was treated for heat exhaustion and dehydration.  She's been discharged and Dr. Farcy says she's fine.  Rita was in the middle of a photo shoot for Madonna's Material Girl campaign in Miami when she was taken ill.


British pop singer Rita Ora -- who had the hit song, "R.I.P." -- collapsed on the set of her photo shoot in Miami Beach today ... and was rushed to a hospital by ambulance according to photographers on the scene.

Photos show the 22-year old singer/model/actress -- eyes closed -- being loaded into the ambulance on a stretcher ... attended by emergency personnel.  So far, no word on what may have caused her to collapse.

Ora -- who famously dated Rob Kardashian last year -- was reportedly preparing for her photo shoot on the beach near the SoHo Beach House hotel when she fainted in her makeup trailer.
