Petr Pavlenskiy sits bloodied after cutting off part of his ear29 year old Petr Pavlenskiy who once nailed his private parts to the ground has shocked passers-by after he stripped himself naked and sat on a wall in Moscow, before pulling out a large knife and slicing off part of his ear.
Police arrived quickly and retrieved the knife before dragging him away.
Pavlenskiy cuts off his ear in public As well as the ear and testicles stunts, Pavlenskiy has previously sewed up his lip and wrapped himself in barbed wire as part of self-mutilation extreme protests.
So far, the artist has not said what his latest stunt was all about.
He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
