Hollywood actor and actress Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have finally reached a settlement just two weeks after Katie filed for a divorce, where she demanded for the sole custody of their 6 year old daughter, Suri as she was not comfortable raising Suri according to the beliefs of Scientology, a religious sect which Tom is a member. That was a speedy resolution, I think. At least there were no nasty court battles..Both couples want what they think is best for Suri.
Since this divorce issue started, there has been a lot of renewed interest and attention made towards Scientology. If they had allowed the case to go to trial, there would have been a lot of scrutiny on Scientology, which Tom would not have liked.
According to the statement jointly prepared by both couple, or should I say ex-couple, which they sent to CNN: "We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."
Poor Suri! Caught up in all these!!
