Camille and Bill Cosby Scholarship in Science

The Camille and Bill Cosby Scholarship in Science is awarded to college juniors enrolled at Temple University. It is specifically for students who are majoring in one of the natural sciences and who have graduated from Simon Gratz, Germantown, Central or Girls High School.

Students must be enrolled as juniors at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. One scholarship is awarded each year. The required grade point average is 3.25. The scholarship is renewable an additional year as long as the student maintains a grade point average of 3.0 or above.

Students may apply through Temple University. They must demonstrate financial need and are required to submit a letter of recommendation from a member of the faculty.

Bill Cosby is a well-known comedian and superstar who himself won a scholarship and attended Temple University. He grew up in the impoverished neighborhood of Germantown, North Philadelphia, and established the scholarship to help other students in that area achieve their dreams of a higher education.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $3,000.
