Viral: Pictures spread on social media of the man being walked on a leash in Farringdon, London
The woman who caused a Twitter storm by pulling a man on a dog lead through a London street packed with commuters has explained the stunt.
Eden Avital Alexander has revealed the act was neither a PR trick or bizarre role-play - but part of a theatre group project.
Pictures and video went viral across Twitter and social networking sites after Eden was spotted by dozens of people on their way to work in Farringdon on Friday morning.
The stage actress has now admitted the 'walkies' was part of a project focused on crowd reactions and the man on the leash was her director.
People's reactions were being filmed by a cameraman as part of the project and Eden said the exploit had triggered a range of reactions - from laughter to people debating the man's human rights.
She told The Independent: "One asked me to make my dog smile to her camera, while walking behind us for five minutes. A few people asked me if it was my husband. I replied to all within character.
"I believe that artists, actors especially, should take the audience out of their normal everyday life and make them think and feel other things.
"Weirdly only five of the pictures taken that day were released on the media and the only videos published was of us crossing the road even though people took much more."
